That's a nice 1-2 punch from Gagne to Papelbon in the 8th and 9th inning. The Sox want this title badly.

With a rotation of Schilling (if healthy) Beckett, Matsuzaka, Wakefield and Gabbard, they have the inside track to the pennant.

I'd say Lester, Tavarez, Gagne and Papas make a helluva a pen as well.

The Tigers need the Gambler to stay healthy and they need Zumaya back if they want any shot at getting past Boston.

That Gagne trade is looking worse and worse. I wonder if the BoSox will leave him off the playoff roster. He is terrible.

Figure it out BoSox. We would love to face the Yanks instead and whip them up like our little step child. Angels have some problems in the bullpen too. Shield has sucked out loud since the 2nd half and Frankie isnt shutting down opponents like he has up to beg of August. BoSox and Angels both have managers that cant pull a guy out of a game when he is spent. Gagne is the best trade this year..... for the yankees!

The Yankees are by far the hottest team in the league right now, and having to fight near the end of the season will help them in the postseason.

I think they will be tough to beat in the playoffs.

There's no way they don't. They might pull him off 8th inning duty, but they'll keep him around. It's just incomprehensible how he went from a 2.20 ERA with Texas to a 9.00 one with Boston.

not for the angels. Never has been and probably never will. They DO NOT want to face the Angels again. I say all would take Indians. They are a hot team right now also.
