With the 1st pick of the 2020 mock draft, the Bengals select Joe Burrow QB, LSU

The most no-brainer pick I've ever made in an OM draft.

Instead they take QUARTERBACK I mean LB, DE, S, Slot Corner and all around ATHLETE to build their defense around in Syracuse stud Isaiah Simmons.

Detroit needs a ton of defensive help and since db's rarely make an impact in their first year they decided to go with the second best athlete in this draft. Simmons can plug holes all over the field and gives this team tons of versatility paired with Jamie Collins.

Also, only trade offer was for a mid and a late first round picks. Only a fool would entertain such an insulting offer.

ID:	2591903Miami initially had 5 players with elite grades in this draft. Including the top 3 picks made so far in this draft. While Simmons would have been a great addition to Flores defense, we are still happy to add a corner who has Jalen Ramsey level skills. Despite making a big splash in free agency and landing Byron Jones, Broncos fans know the value of having three great corners. Nickel is base, in which Jones will play slot corner. When in actual base Jones has the flexibility to play safety as well. The Dolphins gave up both remaining first round picks and two day 3 picks, but we are ready to restock with our three day 2 picks in hand.

The Dolphins took somewhat of a risk allowing Tua to drop to them at 5. Herbert was not a part of the plan, unless he fell to 18. The elite defensive prospects of Young, Simmons and Okudah made the gamble worth taking. We feel very fortunate to be able to pair one of those guys with our QBOTF. Tua is an elite prospect with injury concerns. If not for those same injury concerns he would be in discussion to go #1 overall in this draft. With the 39th, 56th, and 70th picks remaining, our draft strategy has started off according to plan.

Playing it safe in the first round. The Chargers have needed two new offensive tackles for...honestly I can't remember the last decent tackle they had. This is a "that'd be cool if he could play left but we'll settle for right side if we have to" kind of pick. Obviously would have liked a QB here but didn't like Tua enough to trade up, and no other QBs I like this much. Very weird OT class this year, at least 3 different players in discussion for top OT, which made this pick tougher, but I always like Hawkeyes so I went with my gut.

Do you guys remember when Scherffing it was a thing!?

Pick made at 10:04 pm MST, bpc and the Panthers are on the clock.

                10 3/4”

                Player Bio
Becton helped Highland Springs High School win back-to-back state titles before matriculating to Louisville. The four-star recruit's huge frame gave him a chance to contribute immediately, and he started 10 games at right tackle for the Cardinals. Becton started 12 games as a sophomore, 10 at left tackle and two on the right side. He showed great promise during his junior season, starting 11 games at left tackle and garnering first-team All-ACC honors for his road-grading ways. Becton chose not to play in the team's bowl game to prepare for the draft.

                Overview
Enormous frame complemented by surprisingly nimble feet and functional athleticism to handle either tackle spot. Becton's combination of movement and force should allow him to fit easily into all running schemes, but he needs to play with better patience in order to control and redirect all that mass into centered blocks in both run and pass. His technique and set-up are better than expected in pass pro, while his size and length allow him to recover and redirect both inside and outside rushes. With all really big prospects, weight and quickness will be concerns, but Becton's areas of concern are correctable or manageable if he's disciplined enough to prioritize them. He has the potential to be a good starter on either side, but the weight creates an obvious low-floor scenario.
                Strengths
                • Absolute giant with dense, proportional frame
                • Possesses rare 7-foot wingspan
                • Booming upper-body power blasts kick-out targets off their feet
                • Athletic enough to make his outside zone blocks
                • Fits up and runs feet to wash away defenders on lateral blocks
                • Potential to mash what's in front with more work
                • Mass can finish what the technique doesn't
                • Inside-out pass sets are well-balanced and smooth
                • Well-positioned to chunk hands during slide
                • Squeezes down to guard's hip when outside rush vacates
                • Adequate redirect to protect inside post
                • Long arms allow for emergency recovery
                • Well-positioned to chunk hands during pass set

                Weaknesses
                • Weight could become a major issue without discipline
                • Opens outside half too early in pass sets
                • Throws himself off-balance when loading up punch
                • Natural quickness limitations require above-average awareness of blitz/twists
                • Unable to respond timely to cross-face stunts
                • High hands diminish leverage at point of attack
                • Needs better patience/control as positional blocker
                • Allows himself to work too far ahead of the landmark
                • Needs to get length involved in the block sooner
                • Needs to cinch and control rather than shoving down blocks/kick-outs

Pick made at 12:22am, March 23rd PST. Arizona/Ludo is now on the clock.

With the 9th pick in the 2020 Orange Mane Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn.

The Jaguars defensive line, a key component of the team's deep playoff run in the 2017-2018 season, is in need of new impact players after losing Calais Campbell [traded to Baltimore in 2020] and Malik Jackson [signed with Philadelphia in 2019]. The edge rush has a bright future with Josh Allen, and Yannick Ngakoue is still in the team's plans after receiving the franchise tag, but the interior defensive line is looking for a reinforcement to join veteran Abry Jones and the up-and-coming Taven Bryan.

Derrick Brown is exactly the kind of player we are looking for, on and off the field. An All-SEC 1st Team, SEC Defensive Player of the Year and unanimous All-American in 2019, Brown also won the LOTT IMPACT Trophy last year, being recognized for his high character along with his athletic performance. For the season, he collected 55 tackles [12.5 for loss], 4.0 sacks, 4 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles. According to Pro Football Focus, Brown also recorded 38 quarterback pressures and did not miss a tackle against the run all season.

With this selection, the Jaguars hope they have found a centerpiece for their defensive overhaul and a team leader on and off the field.

                    Quotes:

"The Auburn product creates separation from blockers with an explosive punch, which allows him to close quickly and make plays. His effort is consistent. Overall, this is a complete player capable of dominating on all three downs. He'll be a difference maker on Day 1" - Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com

"He has the ability to power into gaps, but he really shines when he drops his anchor to stall double-teams or punch, press and prey on runners as a two-gapper. Brown's upright rush style means he might be more of a pressure rusher than a sack-man, but he should keep improving as a rusher with more dedication to the craft. He could become a high-impact starter early in his career with an All-Pro ceiling and good starter floor" - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

"Brown is a rare blend of size, explosiveness, power and technique that he combines with an unrelenting motor to physically dominate his opponents. Brown is a game-wrecker for opponents and he presents high value as both a run stopper and pass rusher in the NFL." - Joe Marino, The Draft Network

Pick made at 11:08 ET. Cleveland (phibacka31) is on the clock.
