    Too many really good drafters in front of the 107th pick.
    I do the same. I always move up early to a certain spot. I track the flow of the draft and see where things are headed.

      He fits TB and their RB roster to a tee. Like MUG said, hes Dunn all over again. I needed a slot chain mover at WR and another tandem RB to pair with Barber on offense.

          So true... collectively, the OM Mock participants hoover the talent off of the board in a hurry... Players I think will be there in the 5th are inevitably snatched up much earlier.

          I love it.

            • With the 102nd overall selection in the 2019 Orange Mane NFL Mock Draft,

              the BALTIMORE RAVENS close out the 3rd round and select;

              DE MAXX CROSBY, EASTERN MICHIGAN

              Maxx Crosby is the #137 overall prospect on my Top 300 Big Board

              DE MAXX CROSBY EASTERN MICHIGAN

              Purdue (2018): Playing DE. Starting at LDE in 43 defense. Lined up in wide 9, easily able to shoot inside the RT with quickness and a swim move for a QB pressure. Shows good hand usage, chops down the OT’s arms. Offsides penalty. Getting pushed around a little bit by the TE in the run game. Got some revenge with an awesome Reggie White style club move that sent the TE flying, able to come off that and stuff the RB on off tackle run, even with the TE on the ground holding his leg. That was a highlight rep for sure. Lined down blocked, tried to pick him up with the pulling LG, Crosby easily sidestepped him and stuffed the RB on off tackle run for a loss. RT really struggling with the wide 9 formation, Crosby able to get around him with relative ease inside and out. Playaction bootleg, Crosby not fooled, big pressure on the QB. Able to work around the arc by the RT, flushed the QB and then chased him down on scramble for short gain. Inside swim on RT, picked up by the RB though. Rollout shovel pass, Crosby with a massive hit on the QB. Stacked up RT, strung out RB, teammates cleaned it up for short gain. Rolled off TE’s chip block, off tackle run, slow motion replay showed him wind up and punch the ball out of the RBs arms for a fumble on the tackle. Wide 9, arc rush, chopped down RT’s arm, sack on QB. It’s strange because Crosby doesn’t look that fast, he looks long and has long strides, but he eats up ground pretty quick. Nice job getting hands up and impacting passing lane. Split TE double team on 4th and 1, initially pushed back but able to work through with effort, good thing too because the RB was stuffed inside but had rolled off the pile and was about to bounce outside for a long gain until Crosby showed up and buried him. Continues to flash a great swim move, has several advanced moves to defeat blockers, plays with a pass rush plan. Pretty solid tape, they schemed him into position to make some plays, curious to see if he’s effective lined up tight at traditional DE. Fairly well-rounded against the run and pass rush, appears to have good size and solid athleticism. Definitely intrigued after first viewing. Appears to strictly be a 43 DE prospect.

              Buffalo (2018): Playing DE. Starting at LDE in a 43 defense. Lots of contain early in this game, kind of boring. Doesn’t really read pass and transition into any type of rush, just sits outside playing contain. Driven off the line in goalline by the RG on a 1 yard TD plunge. Able to beat RT around the edge on a redirect move for a QB pressure, Jackson was able to pump fake and scramble away from the sack. Continues to play contain almost exclusively, problem is Buffalo isn’t running anywhere near him so far, so this is just boring tape. Beat RT around the arc on a speed rush for a QB hit, athleticism looks decent, RT looks like his feet are encased in stone. Moved him inside for a rep, once you get his initial rush stopped, he struggles to get off blocks. When he’s outside, his redirect is almost always to just try and run around the RT. Inside, he’s just stuck. Flashed a little bit of a dip and bend on arc rush around the RT. Doubled by the TE and RT on off tackle run in his direction, did a fine job of forcing the play back inside, but not seeing any type of dynamic playmaker. Tried to run a sweep to his side, did a fine job of stacking and shedding the RT and stuffing the run. Might not be making any splash plays but he’s been very workmanlike in his contain duties. Beat RT with just athleticism and hopping outside of his block to get around the edge. Does a decent job of trying to interrupt passing lanes. Stunt inside, picked up easily by the OC. Not seeing much of a power element to his game, not seeing much of a penetration element to his game. Nice outside in move combined with a club to get underneath the RT for a pressure. That was his best pass rush, got the RT to commit to stopping the arc, immediately shifted back inside which put the RT off balance and then clubbed him up and through his armpit to topple him to the outside and give an easy lane to the QB. Inside swim on the RT off the snap, beat him clean and then trucked the RB in pass pro for a QB pressure, Jackson able to scramble away again. Two nice pass rush reps in a row, they are turning him loose a little bit now. The bad part was that Jackson scrambled away and then threw a long bomb for a TD on that play. Angle block by the RT that he worked through, RB still able to get around him, but he strung out the play so long it was for a minimal gain. Continues to play a great outside contain. Biggest issue remains that he’ll turn a run back inside, but he doesn’t quite have the athleticism to both turn a run back inside and make a tackle on the RB. Great edge players do it all. Down block by the TE, able to seal Crosby inside and RB got the edge for a short gain. Gets driven off the ball by any type of double team, not a very stout guy. Nice effort working through and chasing down the RB from the backside, able to punch the ball out for a fumble as well. Just a good effort play, was worried he wouldn’t get there because he doesn't look very fast. Overall, showed some refined pass rush moves, does a good job with his hands in defeating blocks, very disciplined in contain and played the run well overall. Concern is that he doesn’t look like a very athletic impact DE, but he can play.

              Toledo (2018): Playing DE. Starting at LDE, doesn’t usually move from that position, sometimes they kick him down inside for a play. Great job on read option, QB tried to keep it and get the edge, he wasn’t having any of that. Hand usage might be his best trait, does a great job slapping down the RT’s hands, also has a strong initial punch which allows him to stack the lineman up against the run. Down block by TE sealed him inside on QB sweep. Stunt inside, split the gap between the OC and RG, but overran the QB and missed the sack. Very technically sound when defeating the cut block attempt, both hands immediately down to push off the diving OT, use that force to hop wide and redirect. Perfectly done to defeat the cut block. Flashed a quick and sudden inside spin move, that looked good, RT mirrored it, but that had some legit quickness to it. Quickness being the one trait he’s really lacked so far. Stunt inside, ran right into the RG and got knocked back. Able to work his way around the RT, doesn’t pivot and change directions well, QB able to just slip by him underneath. This has been a problem in every game, he’s very stiff hipped, if someone steps up, he can’t do anything but run by them and try to slow down before doing an air plane style turn to change directions and chase. Same thing again, did a nice job reading a WR screen, popped outside to try and tackle it but the WR just juked him while cutting back and Crosby is powerless against that type of change of direction. Outside in move to beat the RT for a sack, just got him off balance defending outside and sliced back underneath. Has had success with that in all the games so far. Outside spin move on arc rush, don’t usually see that, looked average at best, he does keep his feet well and shows good balance with his spin moves. Stack and shed on TE, QB tried a designed sweep to his side, came off the TE and blasted him for a loss. Bull rush on RT for a pressure, just kind of kept working him back. Blew through the block by the TE to blow up the RB for a loss. When he pins his ears back and just stresses the edge off the snap, his initial first step isn’t awful, he just can’t change direction and finish at all. A little disappointed with him towards the end of the game, Toledo had to pass to try and tie the game late, he was turned loose as a pass rusher and the RT ate his lunch the entire drive, just mirrored and shut him down.

              TLDR:
              Overall, showed some refined pass rush moves, does a good job with his hands in defeating blocks, very disciplined in contain and played the run well overall. Concern is that he doesn’t look like a very athletic impact DE, but he can play. The lack of power and the lack of agility really limits his ability to finish and have top end production. Combine testing will be key because based on tape, there are some concerns, but overall thought he showed well in every game, legit NFL draft prospect at 43 DE (Rock solid athletic testing at Combine, better agility than expected, makes it a little more confusing why he struggles so much with quickness and changing directions in each game on tape).

                    I was wondering why you didn't snag either Jackson or Stidham to get a QB.

                      Well, after crashing and burning horribly with trade ups every single year, I swore I'm not trading up no matter what. And then I just kept having higher rated guys available when I picked at other positions. Joseph is looking like a mistake, probably should have took Stidham there in retrospect, but the tape is strong, so hoping for the best.

                      I don't actually think the Bengals take a QB in this draft though, so it's more of a BPA thing. I really did hope to get my favorite QB in this draft here in the 4th though. Close, but not to be.

                          You can't expect the Bengals to take a QB if you won't.

                              Does he...or does Scribe have some nefarious trade up plan in store that will halt the draft in all of it's glory...
