Free throws are supposed to be easy. It's a penalty on the other team. They're still not as "free" as an extra-point. The greatest free throw shooters of all time are around 90%. The worst kickers of the last 10 years are above 95% and nearly all of them are at 100% each year.

I like it. The extra point is missed a few time so it is crucial to the game but is boring and for the most part a gimme. This is a change I like. Not enough to really change the game but enough to make everyone worry and there will be more missed.

The new change isn't really that bad. Think about it. You're keeping it as close to the original game as you can. You're just making the PAT a little more difficult now instead of an automatic gimmie. I've seen a few kickers come close to missing the PAT this preseason so I think it was a pretty good move by the competition committee.
    Ya I agree. Keep it.

But also give a way to go for more points in the post TD moment. If a team wants to go for extra, they can gamble the full 7 points in favor of a play for 8 points. Either a field goal attempt from at least 50 yards or 1 more offensive play from the 5. If either of chosen attempts fail the initial TD is worth 6, if they are successful the TD is worth 8.

Or get rid of the goal posts and come up with some variation of this:

I think Goodell would love this ****.

Free throws are far from a 99% certainty and are not restricted to 1 specialist that only does free throws. Golf please, not even the same thing. If they had to cut to commercial, run on a special 1 foot putt caddy team, preform putt then cut to commercial again I would have an issue it it. Since it takes about 20 seconds to accomplish I am fine with it.

    Baseball sucks so who cares.

Kickers never miss the point. Move it back.

I was just about to ask the question of what's the new LOS. Apparently, you answered that. I appreciate it. Are kickers missing extra points, because of this new LOS?

What about color coding the space between the goalposts like in the Madden kicking minigame? More points if you hit the red.

I really like the longer PATs. There not gimmes anymore and its more exciting to watch for me personally.

I am for the rule change maybe not exactly the way they are trying it out now. Make the extra point more relevant. Push the kicker back on a post TD infraction. Don't eliminate the kicker from the game but these guys are just too good to be kicking from the 3 yd line (20 yard total). Kicking extra points was more relevant in the 50s and 60s before the era of specialists. I think guys like Lou Groza, Jerry Kramer, Pat Summerall , Lou Michaels, etc lined up at other positions. I am not suggesting going back to the drop kick era as some you will certainly jump on this with.

I have even heard ideas of two sets of goal posts, one pair inside the other.
