  • NFL to change marijuana policy?

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the NFL is expected to revamp its marijuana policy in the league's new drug agreement, instituting a higher threshold for positive tests and lessening the penalties.
It's unclear how much the penalties will be lessened, but at the very least, it means players will no longer be subject to a four-game ban for a first-time offense. Per Graziano, haggling over the arbitration process is the only roadblock to a new drug agreement. The move comes too late for Josh Gordon, but it appears marijuana will no longer be treated as a more serious offense than issues like drunk driving and assault.

    Thank god for change.

Let's just hope Von doesn't see this as an avenue to puff puff this summer.

It was always a dumb rule in it's strictness.
A suspension shouldn't happen until the 3rd offense, depending on the issue.
If it's a DUI or DWI then by all means suspend them, if it's for a positive test then no suspension.

Would be nice if Von didn't have to get UA'ed every day for the rest of his career.

I am not a fan of weed but I always thought the penalties were way too stiff.

The thing is if you read what Nate Jackson wrote he smoked a lot during the season which makes the testing for banned substances a joke. If your going to test then do it right.
