  • A nice endorsement for Lamin Barrow

Round 5/156 -- Lamin Barrow, MLB, 6-1, 237, Louisiana State

--The Broncos hope Barrow is an eventual answer at middle linebacker, but he could find an immediate role as one of the two linebackers in the nickel sub package. His skill set compares with that of incumbent weak-side linebacker Danny Trevathan. Barrow was a priority Broncos target; general manager John Elway said that coach John Fox "made about 18 laps" around the Broncos' draft room while nervously waiting to see if he fell to their spot.

I wouldn't be doing to many laps in the draft room with that bum ticker of his. the guy can still chew the **** of some gum, though.

Not sure but he was probably 40 Colorado Koolaids in at that point in the draft.

What were his splits, per lap?

Why would anyone be against this selection?

Has starting ability, prolific on S/T and a quality nickel defender. Kind of what we needed, right?

Since we couldn't get Shazier or Mosley, yes. Hopefully he can turn into that 3 down guy for us.

Because the FO is obviously horrible and incapable of properly constructing a team.

I have severe issues with them seemingly ignoring MLB due to the nickel scheme but even I love this pick and think it helps us greatly.
The negative reaction to this pick reminds me of when the Colorado Avalanche traded for Varlamov.
Everyone was clamoring for a top notch goalie and when the name they wanted wasn't the guy the Avs acquired they were livid and said the FO was the dumbest ever.

Even now when he was a finalist for the Vezina people still claim that the team overpaid and the value would have been better for their guy.

Shanahan ran 27 laps when he was waiting to see if Willie Middlebrooks would fall.

                            Sort of shabby.

Played WLB in 2012, slid over to MLB in 2013 because he was the best LB and their other projected guy couldn't handle the D.
