You really expect them to go in there Week 1 and win? The odds are not in their favor, and there's a hell of a lot more harm than good that could happen if they played there in Week 1.
I wouldnt bet on it but both teams are different than last year, good and bad.

      This is from rotoworld.

The league will announce the 2014 schedule Wednesday at 8PM ET on NFL Network.

The "drama" is over. This season's matchups are already known, but the dates are not. The season will begin on a Thursday night in Seattle, where the defending-champion Seahawks will likely host a conference rival.

Here's reasons i wouldnt mind getting it out of the way.

        - Given how physical that game would be, would give Den a few more days to heal up.
        - It's probably the hardest game on the schedule, get it out of the way win or lose.
        - Weather, it's unlikely there would be bad field conditions in September.
        - We're gonna have to go up there at some point, why not Week 1?

Meh, i'll take getting out of that jungle with no serious injuries.

            A win is gravy.

I strongly doubt we'll open in Seattle. It would be odd to not only play them in the preseason but turn around a few weeks later and open the regular season in the same spot.

People buzzing that it will be Indy at Denver week 1. I don't see that happening. Too early to burn that matchup or Manning/Brady. As somebody mentioned we've started at home the past three years. I think they'll have us on the road at Cincy to start.

We won't open in Seattle, I don't think we'll be going up there until later in the season. I don't want it to happen, either. Can't imagine the criticism the team will see if we go up there and get spanked week 1, and as stated above, not good for the psyche of the team to get their asses kicked by those guys yet again. I think it would be a much more competitive game, and I'm eager to see how we stack up with the new additions and having all of our injured players back. Week 1 though? No thanks. A nice home win over another playoff contender sounds great to me.

Just a guess: I think it's going to be kc or San Diego on Monday night (at kc early game, sd late game) nfl has put an afc west matchup on opening Monday night the past few years

I hope it's at Kansas City. We have never opened the season at Kansas City.

This is a battle tested Schedule it looks like 11 or 10 wins will win the west this year

Colts have easiest schedule (opponents a combined 110-146). Last 2 teams with “easiest” sked, 2012 Pats and 2013 Broncos, reached Conf Champ

That was the win loss percentage of Denver's 2013 opponents BEFORE the season. Which was 32nd. At the end they played the 26th easiest schedule, KC played the easiest.

Should be worth nothing, that winning games statistically makes your schedule easier as your opponents records go down with every win.

I'm guessing the Seattle game will be like a week 10 matchup. It's a nice space between the preseason game, and a potential Super Bowl rematch, along with the fact it gives both teams a chance to build up superior records, so the game can feature two 9-1 teams or thereabouts.

Id be fine with getting outclassed in Sea or even SF early in season, even week 1. Then get tons of criticism. I want to see our team actually play with a chip on their shoulder for once. Seems to me, teams playing like its them against the world win Superbowls.
