On your second point Id have to agree. It's a brilliant invention, but in it's current state not very efficient for a large population. Although, It would work great in a small community. Plus it takes 5 generators to run the thing?

The question that I have is what could be the long term effect of removing water from the air?

A Protocol Droid and a R2 unit could probably run it.

great in theory, but if it's only producing enough water for one 20 liter tank (i.e. 5.2 gallons) than the people in the video would have just used up all of the water and that one kid was a huge jerk because he didn't even drink it, just threw it all over his head...

Additionally, the cost to do something that produced on a reasonable level would have to be astronomical and at that point you could just build an aquaduct of some kind to bring the water in for a much much much better rate of return.

Very cool. I do question the durability through storms, durability from birds and UAVS hitting either the fan blades or cords, it would have to be placed in a no fly zone or low enough to exempt it.

But, I am not trying to be a negative nancy, I am going to school for engineering, and I am very impressed and motivated by this.
