Dang, that's pretty awesome. Sideline passes to the game of his choice AND Super Bowl tickets? That's pretty sweet. Roddy has always seemed like a good dude.
That fan has got to be pinching himself right now... what a score!
The optimist in me wants to say "Good job!". The pessimist (and, sometimes, borderline realist) knows that he initially did some whining about it. He tweeted that "gambling is illegal in the NFL" and he'll only give tickets to the Bears game. His reputation was on the line...

And the lazy person in you didn't even click the link where it points out that he gave the guy season tickets on the 50 yard line, a sideline pass to one game and training camp VIP passes.

I KNOW he went above and beyond what he said he was going to do. That's the point. He had to make up for the bad reputation he was getting, when he was whining about paying the bet. Think "Bob, before he ultimately decided to welch on his bet"...

Ah, well I never fault a guy for his reaction right after losing a game AND a bet. People around here literally turn into the whiniest babies in the world after we lose....in PRESEASON. Let him have his grief, process it and then get where he needs to be to react rationally.
They didn't wager. Roddy made a statement saying if you are right I will pay you the season tickets. Not sure why people don't understand that it was a claim by White and doesn't need a wager from the other person.
Obviously he saw the bad publicicty, the team saw it also, his agent saw it also, and they convinced him to pay up.

If Roddy won, what was he getting from the fan?
That was also part of his post-game complaint. It was a one-sided bet, so he didn't feel like he needed to pay up. Roddy responded to a fan Twitter trash talk, and made this bet...
So if you tell your kid hey get good grades and i will pay for your college. Does he have to wager something up also? No it's a claim and promise made.
Likewise White made a claim, a promise to someone in a public fashion. He had to come through or he risked infamy.
I'm not going to act like Roddy handled that the right way from the beginning. I also would not be surprised if the compensation to that fan was paid for by the Falcons or his agent to save face. All I do know is that Roddy White is a great guy at heart. He just has the trigger happy mouth of T.O. without the arrogance.
