  • Rams owner buys 60 acres in LA......hmm

ST. LOUIS –- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed Friday that St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke informed the league of a recent purchase of a 60-acre tract of land in Inglewood, Calif.

The Rams' lease with the Edward Jones Dome contains an escape clause that is set to kick in at the end of the 2014 season. If the stadium hasn't been upgraded to one of the eight best venues in the NFL before that time, the Rams' lease will then become a year-to-year proposition beginning in 2015.

Looks like they just had an earthquake in LA just now too, probably not a big one though.

Historically it would make sense. They were in LA for 48 years before moving to St. Louis.

Would be nice to see Kroenke wipe away the crimes of Georgia Frontiere.

Kroenke made his money in real estate developement well before he married into the Walmart Walton family. Dude knows what he's doing regardless of if he plans on moving the Rams or not. So, I wouldn't read too much into this purchase.

You are right, but I think there is more to it. He obviously let Goodell know about the purchase so Roger could make the announcement. That tells the world that it is probably football related (I mean, he probably has other real estate transactions all the time that aren't announced by Roger Goodell). The only reason he does that is to send a message to St. Louis to step up, otherwise he would just keep that under his hat.

I had been reading the last few months that he wants to purchase Chivas from the MLS and build a new stadium for them at this site.

This would require the city of LA to get get their shiat together and I wouldn't bet on that.

Inglewood : The players would love it there .......

A city just west of Los Angeles that has at least one liquor store per every four blocks; one porno book store per every 8 blocks; and a Asian Massage Parlour every mile. (Actually, there is a place on Manchester Blvd in Inglewood that as all three of those AND a gunrange in the same BLOCK!)

Also a famous city known for crime that is named in Ice Cube, Dr Dre, Snopp Doggy Dog and TuPac songs.

He bought a huge chunk of waterfront land in California last year. I think people are looking too much into this. Sure it might happen, but I think right now this is more about his own personal real estate business dealings.

He's secretly getting ready to move the Avalanche there, Goodell was just used as a distraction.
