  • Where to go from here

I think it's become obvious that Denver's remaining FA moves will be bargain shopping. We have areas to address (in order of priority IMO): LG, CB, MLB, WR.

I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a guard in the first, yeah I know it's not typically done but when your QB is Manning you ensure he is going to be protected and he needs a pocket he can step into.

Harris is coming off a torn ACL, and his availability early on is questionable. I see CB and MLB being the 2nd and 3rd round picks. We need a WR, but there is still plenty of talent available in FA that this isn't needed in the draft.

    My draft:
    1) Yankey/Jackson
    2) Purifoy/Fuller
    3) Skov/Borland

    FA pickups:
    WR) Damian Williams/LaFell
    OG) Colledge/Nwaneri/Colon
    MLB) Henderson/Pat Angerer

    What's your plan?

Klis has some good comments on this topic, suggesting interior OL and WR are the current FA priorities.

yeah, I hate the idea of moving Ramirez. He was awesome at center....keep him there.

I agree with Klis....here is how I see our priorities in order:

        G/C
        WR
        MLB
        CB

I think if they work it right...they can get WR at 1, MLB at 2, and G/C at 3 in the draft. I think they should pick up a veteran WR in free agency, and veteran CB for depth. Get your MLB in the draft, your guard or RT in the draft, and depth.

He looked solid...but, how was he in terms of calling the formations, getting guys in position etc.? We don't really know that.

I'd like to see them trade back to the high 30's and take BPA OL/MLB/CB.
If Houston doesn't go QB #1 overall, another QB needy team may come calling.

I'd like to see them trade back and get more picks. The second round will have a lot of good WRs, guards, and Mlbs. Not so sure about later in the draft.

OG and WR seem to be the top IMO, then MLB, CB. And they need some KR/PR guys also, that's always a huge bonus . . . . .

There's plenty of veterans in FA still out there to fill some roster spots (except for OG), it's the wait and see game.

For OG, I've seen some chatter about Elway was looking into an OC in FA, which would have given them some more options on the OL instead of a dramatic re-shuffle of the existing OL. As the team sits now, it's heavy on OT's, very short of experienced OG's.

WR the same, short on experienced wideouts. We have DT, Welker, Caldwell (meh squared). Welker is a concussion concern, then the depth chart lists:

                Norwood, Jordan WR 5-11 180 27 5 Penn State
                13 Palmer, Nathan WR 5-11 198 24 2 Northern Illinois
                15 Wilson, Greg WR 6-0 185 23 Fordham

                http://www.denverbroncos.com/team/roster.html

                FA WR's still available:

                Santonio Holmes
                Brandon LaFell
                Seyi Ajirotutu
                Danario Alexander (ACL last August)
                Miles Austin
                Nate Burleson
                Austin Collie
                Jacoby Ford
                Heyward-Bey
                James Jones
                Kassim Osgood
                Emmanuel Sanders
                Jerome Simpson
                Tiquan Underwood
                Jason Avant
                Jerricho Cotchery
                Lance Moore
                Sidney Rice
                Davone Bess
                etc . . . . . . .

There's a helluva lot left out there. As Requiem, Rohiirim, mwill07 or somebody said somewhere, if they can get a WR to come in without the upfront cash outlay, they will do so. Apparently, Denver's cash budget is about tapped out.

FA OG's, there isn't much out there. Again, bargain basement with little cash outlay:
                http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/freea...ion=45&type=-1

MLB, again, bargain basement in FA, little or no cash outlay:
                http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/freea...ion=30&type=-1

                Angerer? Dan Connor?

                CB, same as above:
                http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/freea...ion=29&type=-1

Hopefully they have a good draft to supplement the FA moves already made and some further FA bargain basement signings.

I'd prefer they find a vet guard in FA that can plug in right away. If we were somehow able to get a WR like Lee, he could play from day one. Trade up.

That's the issue with Bowlen...that you don't find with other owners. Bowlen's riches tie directly to the Broncos only...

With the rbs getting offers so low I think there is a good chance Moreno comes back to Denver.

I would love that. Would love if Bailey also came back cheaply for a final year.

Has Bailey even had a visit in FA? I bet he get's very little interest.

There are rumors that Philly is interested in him to play safety. No idea if it's true.
