Giving an estimate is the only thing you can do.
It's not rocket science. All the info is publicly available. This spreadsheet is the most accurate one available, because it includes draft picks.

The only thing I'm still trying to figure out is why spotrac shows a -$3.125M 2014 cap adjustment and overthecap does not.

Hi, was browsing and noticed this thread. I think spotrac has made one crucial mistake on that number - it is a credit not a deduction. So it should make our adjusted cap bigger by $3.125M, therefore giving us around $7.6M in space.

Does anyone know what this number includes or how to find out? I believe a large chunk is to do with Tebow ad money owed by the Jets but I'm not really sure?

It's accounting. It's not rocket science but if you think it's as easy as you say then you're sadly mistaken. There are people getting paid a lot of money to manage these numbers for every team, and some mismanage and **** up (Cowboys).

Like I said - people give predictions and projections of about around how much a team has. No one can give an EXACT number because there are variables involved.

If it was really that easy - why do you think team reps never ever confirm about their cap numbers?

Mods need to take this thread down for spreading around inaccurate numbers.

              1. Updated to include top 53 - Only the top 51 contracts are counted until the regular season. However, once the season starts ALL top 53 contracts are counted toward the salary cap, so I put it in now so we have an accurate reflection of the final cap number.

              2. Updated to include Practice Squad - Final cap number includes a projected 8 man Practice Squad, which also starts being counted once the season starts. Included for final cap number accuracy.

              3. The spreadsheet is the most accurate for the actual final cap number on the internet. All active salaries and dead money match both spotrac.com and overthecap.com. If you see a higher remaining final cap space number elsewhere, it does not factor in top 53, draft picks or practice squad, like this spreadsheet does.

                lol @ this passive aggressiveness.

Why do you even have this sheet when there is a link people can go to to get the same information?

                http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Te...ncos&Year=2014

(which shows Broncos having an ESTIMATE of $6,978,500 in free cap space for 51 players...notice how a site you're using as a source gives an ESTIMATE, but somehow your numbers are FACTS and MOST ACCURATE)

But let's really think about this people. So Pricejj is clearly trying to clear his name up by adding over complications (generally what people like him do).

1st, do you really think John Elway and company would leave $850,000 in wiggle room before the season started? Of course you can cut some players (Tamme/Dreessen) but we don't have replacements for them and we know Manning likes people he can trust. That is just damn right irresponsible to have $850k leftover considering injuries that can happen during the season and other FA transactions that happen during the season...players being promoted from PS etc...and everything else.

So what Pricejj is claiming is that, the other cap numbers don't factor in the top 53 (the last 2 players will be obviously be tiny contracts)...the draft class...and PS. So lets look at this tweet that Pricejj is passive aggressively referring to:

                <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>per <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo">@ESPNStatsInfo</a> 3/31 update <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Broncos&amp;src=hash">#Broncos</a> have $6.8 million remaining in salary cap space <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Chiefs&amp;src=hash">#Chiefs</a> $4.5MM <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Chargers&amp;src=hash">#Chargers</a> $3.7MM <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Raiders&amp;src=hash">#Raiders</a> $13MM <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23NFL&amp;src=hash">#NFL</a></p>&mdash; Cecil Lammey (@cecillammey) <a href="https://twitter.com/cecillammey/statuses/450799950859735040">April 1, 2014</a></blockquote>
                <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

If those numbers don't include draft classes, last 2 roster spots, and PS...how in the hell would the Chargers and Chiefs be able to afford a draft class, PS, and last 2 roster spots?

Mind you, Chiefs are still bringing in players for visits.

I've been browsing Chiefs and Chargers forums/articles, and they all claim Chiefs and Chargers have around 4.5m and 3.7m to spend, respectively. So pricejj here must be claiming that the Broncos number is the only one ESPN got wrong.

Also, according to Pricejj spreadsheet the Broncos have 0.0 2014 Adjustment and the Broncos adjusted salary cap is 139.4m.

                    However according to this link

                    http://q.usatoday.com/2014/03/10/adj...-32-nfl-teams/

Broncos have $3,150,302.00 of Adjustments and the Broncos have a total of $142,550,302.00.

                    Unsticky this thread.

And pricejj using my link to verify. Yet this is the same guy who said he had the most accurate numbers on the internet before I came along and called his bull**** work out.

To think that the Broncos would be $850k over the salary cap without thinking twice tells me critical thinking and common sense is missing from this mans life. Generally what happens with all the kids who THINK they're smart.

Maybe you should look at posts #21, #24, and #27 of this thread where I specifically mentioned that there was some confusion about whether the $3.15M was a credit, a deduction, or even if it was real. Fontaine and uknflfan both mentioned they thought it was a credit, but no concrete evidence, so I removed it until I could get confirmation.

That explanation won't be good enough for you. Nobody cares.

I don't need an explanation, you were simply too ignorant and stubborn to listen to what I was saying.

                          This is what you said

                          3. The spreadsheet is the most accurate for the actual final cap number on the internet.
I don't have the time to teach you how to add or read.
                          I was right.
And other nonsense when you were wrong this whole time.

Everything I said is based of what I originally said in the other thread - which is - I don't really look at internet salary cap numbers as a hard number, it's just a guestimate. No one, not 1 person, said we had over $36 million in million in cap space before this FA started. It's easily to say now after all them moves - but as I said - there are people getting paid a lot of money to keep the accounting for all this stuff, so there are variables involved we do not know unless you are an NFL accountant. Or else, they could hire Joe off the block to do the numbers.

For starters, go look up what a cap adjustment is for. The whole CONCEPT of that should tell you something.

The fact that you read that tweet and thought you were still right - is very telling about your character and common sense. KC and Chargers with 4.5m/3.7m in cap space but that doesn't include 53 players, ps, and draft class?

                          Common sense.

I still don't understand why you have guy showing with no cap hit this year (DT, Franklin, Colquitt, etc...)

That's next year 2015. Everything is good for 2014 (except Roby, which is still an estimate). The blank spots in 2015 are FA's with expiring contracts.
