It's called tampering. He probably already had a good idea what the market would offer.

We don't need to overpay for a WR. FA & the draft are crazy deep at the position. We'll let Decker walk because you don't pay for 1 catch, 5 yards in the super bowl. When the chips were down, we saw who is guy was and that's DT. Take a vet looking to prove his worth who would love to get the ball tossed to him in Decker's role and take a shot at a WR in the 1st-4th rounds, we'll still find a damn good player.

Eagles offered him a 5 year deal, he wanted only 1 year. Quite risky that, given he could get injured again. Players are seeing big $$$ signs with the cap set to rise above $140m in 2015 and over $150m in 2016.

It was always DT. He has the rare physical talent that isn't even allowed into FA very often. There is about a 0.01% chance Denver lets him get close to the market. I look forward to him being in orange for a long long time. Whoever they sign for #2 WR will probably be nice enough. Manning will make them look like a pro bowler. Playing with DT, Julius and Welker will afford them 10+ TDs.

Keeping the Thomas' around will be the key to this offense before and after the Manning era. Seriously pumped to see what level each of them can raise to in 2014. Those two are the rare athletes you hit on in the draft and never let go.

The Broncos are realizing they need a speed guy at WR to go with the others they have. They've got to get opposing safeties something to worry about and not able to cheat up so much on those short pass routes.
