well that sucks, we're going to need the cheddar to resign and retool and not spend on more pot roast.

And he would be right, pay him (reasonably) and move on. We don't know what he will be looking for, may not even be that bad.

Going to be tough for Knighton to argue with only strong post-season performance. His regular season numbers are poor for a starting NT. Won't happen.

            31 total tackles 3 sacks

He needs to tackle a lot more like 50 to get better money. His numbers are average at best to below average. Jamal Williams had 40 plus tackle seasons as well as Bannan

regular season stats. Not all world but he DOMINATED in the playoffs like you expect for players to do. Doom had great numbers in the reg season but dissapeared in the playoffs. I'll take a player that plays like knighton everyday of the week.

That's how I feel about it too. With Big Vick coming back, Pot Roast is more luxury than necessity.

That said, I'd love to have him back.

He has to be back, he's under contract lol

He can ask for more money all he wants, but the bottom line is he'll have to play for what the Broncos want to pay him or not at all.

Knighton is 22nd in tackles in the playoffs and not top 5 in either sacks or tackles - not even close. You're buying the hype from the media during playoff time

31 tackles 3 sacks = Knighton until he proves otherwise. You do not give a man more money because he played a solid post-season but a subpar regular season. If anything, Knighton earned his paycheck in the post-season. His production can be easily replaced and even upgraded for the money he may be asking for.

                      Past NT for Denver Broncos:

2012 - Justin Bannan 42 tackles 0 sacks (cheap player)

                      2011 - Broderick Bunkley - 43 tackles 0 sacks

                      2010 - Jamal Williams - 47 tackles 0 sacks

And a proven top notch NT that may even be declining:

                      2013 - Haloi Ngata - 52 tackles 1.5 sacks

                      2012 51 tackles 5 sacks

Basically on topic, the thought of a healthy defense again is about the only bright spot I have right now. We are a safety and MLB (I know, steep climb) away from being just dominating at times.

Judging DTs solely by counting tackles and sacks would be a HUGE mistake.

He has no leg to stand on, asking for more $. Wonder if he'd offer to give some $ back for a subpar year.
