  • Peyton in the playoffs.

I got this from the Denver Post Mailbag.

Okay, Mike. Check my math. Peyton Manning's playoff record, prior to Sunday's win, was a combined 9-11. Eight of those losses were one-and-dones. That means his teams were 9-3 with two Super Bowl appearances in the other years, right? Well, this is an "other year," yeah?
    --Eric, Seattle, Wash.

You're right. Take away the eight one-and-dones and Manning's playoff record is 10-3. That's way better than Tom Brady's 18-7 playoff record. (Wait, what's that? Is there a problem here?)

So Peyton is 10-3 after he got out of the first round.. That is an interesting stat that has to bold well.

This stat is actually VERY meaningful. Get past the one-and-dones, and Manning is -- statistically -- sitting at a 77% victory margin.

    I'll take that.

Basically, if he has a team good enough around him to escape the divisional round (almost all of his losses) he kicks people in their throats

And, when he does get to the Super Bowl, and does not throw a choke pick 6, he wins the Super Bowl 100% of the time.

He has some really good stats when he does well.

well, if you get past the first round, that's a win right there. Essentially, Manning has won every game he didn't lose.

if you want to talk about his record after the first game, it's 5-3:
          2003: 1-1
          2004: 0-1
          2006: 3-0
          2009: 1-1

Isn't every player, QB, Politician anything great if we eliminate the bad.

If you take away ALL his playoff losses he's a "perfect 10-0"

Yes, but like Shanahan, if you take away the years he did not win the superbowl, he has no rings.

Well you know, any time you have a player or a coach who won the super bowl, if you take away those years, they don't have any rings.

How many of those one and done's were as a 1 or 2 seed becuase to get that seed you kinda automatically win a playoff game correct?

And go compare Brady and Manning post 2004 since Brady won a SB with his defense

                            Very similar
