  • What's Deck's value on the open market?

This is difficult to judge bc he's only had 2 really productive years in the league and he was fortunate to play in this offense, but on the flip side, he has the prototypical WR frame and he's still young and healthy.

I pulled some contracts which were signed last season by WR's for a few comparisons. I would think he's in line for a contract closer to Jennings then Amendola's. Most articles I read have Deck as the top WR FA with Jeremy Maclin and Hakeem Nicks being 2nd and 3rd.

On a side note, the WR franchise tag is projected to be 11.6 in 2014.

I would say a 5 year, $40 million deal is what should be expected for the Broncos to keep him. Probably is $15-$20 mil guaranteed.

Some team might overpay for him, and give him a deal like Wallace's, but it would backfire in their faces I think. He is a great complement to Demaryius, I just don't know if he can be "the guy".

Why is Delanie Walker on there? He's a TE...

I think Decker will get Wallace money elsewhere. Hopefully he wants to take a little less and have another year or two of manning tossing him the ball. That said, Manning is close to retirement, and if he can sign to play with an up and comer (like Luck) for more money, he'd be a little crazy not too.

I think 95% of guys who sign their first non rookie contract just tell their agent "get me the most money possible and keep me out of Oakland".

I'm guessing he will get 5 years/50 mil. Possibly from us, but more likely from someone else.

I don't expect him back, unfortunately. Especially if we go deep and he plays well. I could see him playing for the Eagles next year, among several other possible teams.

                Big Richard Decker is a solid WR2 value not WR1. What's that $5M - $7M / year base?

If he refuses a reasonable deal and wants top money, you tag him. period.

The problem is if you give Deck 5/40 then how do you not give DT and JT the same in 2015 after each score another 12 TDS a piece? The more I think about it, the more I see him leaving. Are there any other teams that pay 2 WR's 8M+ a season?

Wallace, Jennings, et al benefit SIGNIFICANTLY from their qb. Big Ben made Wallace rich and Rodgers made Jennings rich. Pair them with the Tannehills and Ponders of the world and they become just another guy.

It'd help if these morons realized it, as they are sacrificing REALLY big money down the line for good money now by leaving their situations.

Decker is a number 2 WR and unless a team wants to pay him number 1 money, which is definitely possible there are some stupid teams out there, his level is around 8 mill per year, something like 42 million over 5 years with 15 guaranteed. Basically Marques Colston money, they are very similar type of players who have both been very productive with a star QB but neither have the freak athletic ability of Mike Wallace or Percy Harvin or the pure size of Brandon Marshall.

There are a few teams starved for WRs who could use him as a number 1, Oakland, Jets, even Patriots, St Louis, Minnesota would all be candidates, fortunately most of those teams are also notoriously cheap.

No way, Amedola is known to be injury prone. Decker will get Wallace money. I don't believe in the The Manning affect or whatever. I don't care how good Manning is, Decker still has to get open and make the catch. However, it will only prove Decker's mental capacity. You can't be a mental midget under Manning. Also, you can see how productive Decker is considering he is playing with Welker, DT and JT. Yes he gets single coverage, besides the top 5 WR, who else gets doubled on a consistant basis?
