  • What's the main difference on defense from last year?

It can't be Dumervil. I don't buy it. Shaun Phillips is going to have the same amount of sacks as Dumervil did. We add DRC to the secondary, our LB's are better. So why are we so much worse than last year?

    • Woodyard hasn't panned out at MLB
    • Von Miller is a shell of what he was last season
    • They just lost their starting DT
    • Champ hasn't played but 2.5 games
    • Their starting FS is out for extended time
    • They were starting a UDFA at SS,
    • Derek Wolfe is not nearly himself and has been out for extended time now...
    • AND they lost Dumervil

    That about sums it up.

100th time... flat sack counts are meaningless. On a per play basis our sack rate fell off a cliff. Yes we miss Doom. And 2012 Von. And Champ.

2 of our best 3 defenders from last year aren't out there. The other is or isn't the same guy.

The most glaring thing to me:

Von Miller. The guy isn't even good. Last year he made this defense go.

I don't know man. I've thought the same thing over and over. I just don't understand how you can go from being a top 5 D to the **** that we are seeing on the field today. I'm sure that Millers suspension, injuries have had some to do with it but it still doesn't seem to be enough of a logical explanation as to what we are seeing. It's bad. Like Shanarat bad.

Coaching maybe? Buying in to their own hype? I dunno man. I know the talent is there. I hope we can figure it out over these next two weeks.

Above all, there is zero leadership and zero swagger on this defense right now.

No nasty, no nothing. It's just flat.

And that's a wrap. SS needs to be upgraded. Mike needs to be upgraded, and we need a dynamic situational pass rusher. Von needs to drop the mass and get back his explosiveness. That missed tackle on the Matthews touchdown was pitiful.

I agree. I will say this though.. I like what I hear coming from Dove Valley. The one message being spewed left and right is cohesion. We can only hope that this will be a galvanizing loss and really make these guys strive to put it together for prides sake.

Our MLB situation last year wasn't good

                  Agree

                  Agree

                  Champ wasn't great last year

So we like Rahim Moore now?

Doom was a liability against the run. I disagree with this

Phillips was absolutely horrible against the run last night.

I would only keep about 5-6 guys on our defense moving forward. Perhaps 8. The rest need to be kicked to the curb.

MLB last season was not great, but it was sound. Period. What we have out there this season is hot chinese garbage.

Yes of course we like Rahim Moore now, have you seen the sucktitude back there without him??

Champ was outstanding last season apart from the Baltimore playoff game. Try again.

Doom was NOT a liability against the run, this is a myth.

That was always overstated. And I disagree with you saying Champ wasn't great last year. Easily our top corner. No way to argue it.

Denver stayed pretty healthy in 12.
Miller was a beast in 12 not a bum suspension is like a holdout never good for that season
Pass rush was better in 12
Injuries are part of the game but, it seemed like every game we lost someone this year
Too many off the field distractions, weird injuries
                              Fax thing
                              FO DUI's
                              JDR to SC
                              Fox Heart valve
                              R. Moore leg thing
CB play declined in 13 (except DRC)
