  • Eli Manning Retires..

No more Mannings in the NFL. Wow, I officially feel old now.

And the first member of the 2004 QB draft class officially bows out. So, for you gamblers out there, who do you put money on following him next? Roethisberger is recovering from an Injury and Rivers is currently an Unrestricted Free Agent. I think both will be back in 2020 (Chargers will throw enough money at Rivers to get some more seasons out of him while they develop a new QB, and Roethisberger will want to depart on his own terms)

Personally, I think Big Ben calls it quits following the 2020 season, while Rivers hangs around for one more year.

Good for Eli to recognize his time was up.
Not too bad of a career. He wasn’t the most consistent threat at quarterback you would’ve expected out of him, but 2 SB rings in his resume looks mighty nice.

He’s the hero of the NFL for stopping the undefeated Patriots.

              Oh my goodness!
Tell me about it. That alone, right there made dealing with the Pats success a little better.
              Thanks Eli, indeed!

Eli didn't "stop" the Pats in 2007. The most prolific scoring offense to that point was held to 14 points mainly by 4 defensive linemen who should have been the MVP as a Group.

One interesting fact that goes overlooked about the Dolphins that year is there was no such thing as homefield advantage. The Dolphins had to win the AFC Championship that year in Pittsburgh. I think that is a pretty big deal.

Eli Manning has the rings, and he has the stats. He is a HOFer in my book.
