  • Dear John Elway - 2020 BETTER BE A PLAYOFF YEAR. NO MORE EXCUSES.

We were 2 plays away this year from a playoff birth.

    2 plays.

We finally have a QB, a pass you’ve been given all these years.

Barring any string of catastrophic injuries - there is no excuse for not making playoffs in 2020.

We have like 7 picks right now in the first 4 rounds.

Cap space (even more if you didn’t **** up Flaccos situations).

Matter of fact, the only reason we don’t make playoffs is if you completely **** up the draft and FA on the offensive side of the ball and Scangs becomes a complete dud (and that’s all on you).

This defense should take a step forward next year.

in a WAY TO EARLY look at the Broncos home and away schedule....as of today, before the draft or seeing how free agency goes, or what the team looks like in preseason, injuries and all that....(WAY TOO EARLY!) ....I have Denver at 9-7. I agree with Action here, that you all should be a wild card team and it you should have a winning record in division. No reason why in 2020, you don't go 2-0 VS the Chargers (as you did this year) and 2-0 VS the Radiers...and maybe sneak up on KC once (probably not just yet).

I think the Bills will be on the down side of the young team up-down-up cycle....very schedule driven...theirs will be tougher next year. New England is about to fall off a cliff. the AFC East is going to be kind of weak sauce. I don't see Indy being better...stuck with Brissett at QB. Jax won't be good.

the AFC is basically going to be Baltimore, KC, and a big mess of the rest. Denver has every reason to believe they are in it to win it next year.

Elway needs to defer to Munchak and Fangio.

Munchak regarding offensive players and Fangio regarding defensive players. Pretty simple. If he does that...the sky is the limit.

You do realize that they converted flacco base salary this year into signing bonus to have cap space to resign Justin and Shelby, extend Harris. However no players were resigned, so that extra cap space they cleared will carry toward next year. It is a net of zero.

Apparently, if they just cut Fucco and Leary it clears 100 MIL on FA money.
Plenty to resign everyone and sign 3 top tier FA's.

Nobody seems to get that. A few people do anyways but cut the bum and move on from him. I don't think I have ever hated to watch a guy play more than him.

It wasn’t for any of that. It’s been reported they stopped negotiations with Simmons and Harris in August until after the season. Before Flacco was restructured. So it wasn’t for that. Janovich ate into the net zero a little bit.

it was done because the cash budget couldn’t handle all the dead money. For example Paying Keenum millions to play somewhere ate into their budget and they needed to kick the Flacco’s cash debt down the road.

You got it backwards, They pay the cash (as bonus instead of salary), then the cap hit is kicked down the road.

Then the only other reason would be to bring in someone else under the cap. Cause the extension talks were stopped before season started, until after the year. So the cap space for Harris and Simmons werent a factor. maybe they were looking at Trent Williams and passed due to his health scare.

It's clear they did it for cap space flexibility but they could have simply waited until the move(s)were imminent instead of pushing the money into 2020 and making no moves.

Ffs, Miami hasn't made it back to the playoffs since Marino retired. It ain't easy replacing a HOF QB.

They have actually. I believe they lost to the Ravens.

You're right. (Can you tell I'm not a Dolphins fan ...lol?) Still, one playoff win (WC) since Marino's retirement....plus 3 more WC one-and-dones and a division loss way back when the Raiders still had Gannon.... does not mean they've found an adequate replacement for Marino.

So comparing yourself to the worst or one of the is a justification now?
