That looks like a completely different unit with him in there. We don't have to worry about him crying on the end of the bench, or moping, or simply being physically limited. He seems to live and breathe the game. I'm ready to crown his a$$!
The OL is still not great. Make no mistake there. Last week they tried to get rid of the ball quickly or use screens to avoid a very good pass rush, and this week they were facing a pretty bad pass rush. Also the run blocking is rather meh. But yes, people made more of the OL play than they should have. It was always more about the QB than the OL.

I am all aboard without an ounce of hesitation. The wait is over. And seeing how quickly it can change and now gel with Sutton, Patrick, Lindsay, Freeman, Risner, Hamilton, Chubb, Simmons is exciting as all hell. I imagine they have to be looking for an impact MLB in addition to oline, if so, watch out.
There is plenty of fools gold when comes to NFL QB. Seimen looked good for awhile, and others. What Lock has is he has the physical talent and the drive to make it.

I didn't want Lock in the draft last year (certainly not at #10, but was okay with the value we got in the 2nd round), but I've been impressed with a lot he's done in the first 2 games. Reads are well ahead of where I thought he'd be, and his pocket presence is something he seems to have a knack for, - hitting his drop, no happy feet, gliding/sliding to give himself space, taking off at the right time. That's probably the thing I'm most impressed with right now.
Exactly how I feel. Finally something to look forward to watching the Broncos. After several bad drafts and last years garbage trades and Flacco signing, Elway has had 2 good drafts.

Mayfield didn't spend much time this off-season working on his craft. He was too busy shooting 30 commercials and shotgunning beers at the Indians games. If Lock can stay focused and hungry enough to get better mentally then he can keep on rolling.

I ordered mine before the season and had it on for both games. I was surprised when we passed on him at pick 10 then again at pick 20 then I expected Risner at 41 and as soon as I saw that we traded up to 42 I knew it was Lock and I knew he was better than Daniel Jones and Haskins.

            • Look at his teammates.

without even throwing a football he has better leadership/respect/hope than QBs since Manning.

you think Teammates are jumping up and down for ****ing Flacco Siemian Lynch Brock etc etc? I’ve seen more emotion for the QB position in 2 games than I have in 3 1/2 years. It’s like someone plugged in Clark Griswolds Xmas lights.

                Orange.
You should have ordered two so you could’ve sent one to Cindy. 😈

Look how much better the OL has got since dumping Flaccid dick. Even Allen made them look passable. Flacco is has the worst pocket presence and sense of pass rush in the league. The way Lock's teammates talk about him says a lot. He is lighting them up in practice.

                  • He opens up the field which really open up the offense... it’s a clear difference to Allen and Easy Joe

                    • Lock's performance was all the more impressive - given the weakness in the Broncos run game. Top priority in the next draft should be to improve the OL.

Fix the OL and the run game will become more effective. And this will open up the passing game -

I agree with the poster who said...we are closer than we think...

I really hope they look for a proper feature back as well. I love Lindsay, but he should not be the main guy in our running game.

                          • As Von said, Lock is a f#*kin rock star! Even with no hope for the playoffs, I’m more excited to watch Broncos football than I’ve been for quite a while.

I'll defer to someone who has time to break down the film, but my impression was that the O-Line was a lot more effective when James was in at RT. It's a shame that he missed so much of the season, but that seems to have happened twice before in his relatively short career, so I'm wary of depending too much on his availability next year.

All I know is that if Lock keeps it up, we can better address needs in the O-line, CB, receiving corps and DL without having to burn another high draft pick or gazillions in free agency in search of a legitimate QB.

                              • Broncos have finally found their QBOT now and future. Time to build a dominant O-line for him and return to command of the AFCW next season.
