SACKS were the focus of VON too !
... remenber when Von and maners were justifying penalties so von could get off early.
    excuses, like I said.
Von has been a pony focused on one trick wneh he has been capable of doing so much more.
AND he is doing more, but he plays without fire because his sacks have gone away.
Von isnt a one trick pony. That is a wierd hill you picked to die on along with ripping Manning and Bailey.

sorry. I only see energy and enthusiasm from Von when he is dancing.
He's averaged a little over 12.5 sacks per season since we won the SB. He'll meet his career averages most likely in every other stat other than sacks. Mack only has 1.5 more sacks and 2 less QB hits.

If there’s anyone who would know what’s “wrong” with Von, Fangio would know. After all, he is a LBer specialist. Personally, I believe the loss of Chubb doomed Von this season because OL coaches know they can double/triple Von and take their chances on everyone else. Yes, I know Von was subpar even with Chubb, but the whole defense was trying to learn a complicated system, and good DC’s could easily scheme Von away. If Von is not serious trade bait this offseason, then that should tell us what Elway/Fangio thinks of his future and/or fit for this team.

Trade him for high picks while he still has high value and before he loses another half step. BB would do it. That or negotiate him downward.

Yeah, I see that happening only if Fangio either believes he either on the decline and/or he is not a good scheme fit. I suppose a 3rd reason would be if Von requests/demands it, but other than that, maybe he just needs more complimentary players.

You don't rest squat. Von was in the Pro Bowl last year, and 7 of his 8 years in the league. His down year is an average year for someone at his position. You've had a vendetta against Von for a while, makes no sense. He basically single-handily won the SB for the Broncos. And instead of praise, it's as if he is just average and doing what is expected of him.

I support our players through good and bad, and just because Von is having his first off year, I don't think we should just dump him. We have no SB 50 without Von. That gives him a LOT of leeway. Some of you expect a ludicrous amount of never-ending excellence. Some players will have off games, or even off years. Von has earned a year of not great play. If it continues next year, maybe I'll be concerned. But sheesh, this team has so many more MUCH more pressing issues, Von is not an issue, a problem, and people should get over it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with him. He's the Von we know, when it comes to everything else on the field. Plays the run well still, tracks and finishes well still. I have noticed this year, where he lines up compared to the past. It's much wider than what we're used to seeing. Has anyone else noticed this? When I saw it, I figured there's more to Fangio's 3-4 scheme than Wade's (or the shades of Wade's) 3-4 we usually run. There's definitely an adjustment he's going through, but he's that type of player that'll figure it out.

Yes, I accused manning of being injured,
and I said Champ was living off his reputation.
                      total blasphemy.

Does it really matter what Von did in 2015. You have to ask does he still bring value for the cap space he takes up. Is this just an off year or is this the first year of declining performance. This team still is many players away from competing for a championship. Fangio is watching and he knows better than all of us combined. I will say the team has done a decent job of exiting vets who haven’t performed well or got hit with injury bug as aged player experience after they left the team.

Some players hit the wall quickly. I think both of them did with the aid of injuries. Living off his reputation is a harsh statement for a player who performed at such a high level for so long. This has happened for eternity in sports where you transition from playing with tremendous athleticism to lesser physical skills but superior knowledge. Then your body can’t respond. Some athletes can see it, others need to be told. They have great pride and the end is hard.

all true, no debate from me.
I shared a personal story about a meeting with champ when he first became a bronco
he matured from that occasion too.
But fans hate hearing negative takes on their "heros" especially when it is the truth they are choosing to ignore.
champ was a gold jacket CORNER, I have never disputed that.
He just earned that jacket 4 years before he retired.

Fangios first question he addressed after his introduction as the new HC came from a denver local media
"what are your thoughts on working with a pro bowler like Von Miller"
his response was, I have watched plenty of tape on von, he can be better.

                                I liked Vic right away.
