Wonder what he did or didn’t do to tick off BB

Been reported Denver was going to pick him in the 2nd round but went with Sutton.

Weird that Pats would give up that fast. Usually when they do that the player sucks. So we got that going for us. Lol

        Pats are deep at CB.
They have Gilmore and McCourty as starters, Jones as their nickel. They drafted Joejuan Williams and Ken Webster this year. Then they also have Melifonwu, Crossen and Jackson.

The dude played only STs so they used practice to evaluate him as a db. Seems like a decentrisk.

Pats have one of the deepest CB groups in the NFL, as Scribe posted but only to get a 6th back is puzzling.

It’s obvious that Bill Belichick knows absolutely nothing about football talent to let the Broncos organization pull the wool over his eyes.

The Broncos are the one blight on Bill B's resume.

Deja Vu !!! Broncos also had a 1st round grade on sua Cravens . We all know how that turned out. But hopefully this one works out.
last time we had a trade with Pat's we sent 5th round for AJ derby

Exactly! BB needed another draft pick for more oline depth and had an extra corner (he wasn’t going to use) to get it. Nothing personal but it’s a great trade for both teams. It’s a second round pick for a 6th round pick. It’s totally worth the risk. We don’t really need him but on special teams and maybe the 4th corner at best.

He would seem to have a few more skills than that. Broncos needed a fifth cb. Maybe he.is trainable.

This was a solid move by Elway, pretty much a no-brainer for the Broncos if the front office had a high grade on Dawson last year and can get him by swapping late-round picks. And Dawson might not be one of the mentally challenged players highly graded by the Broncos front office because the Patriots, who put a premium on drafting smart players, spent a 2nd-round pick on him.

Let him help on special teams and see what happens once he learns the defense. The potential reward is good for such a small price to pay.
