  • Carolina Panthers: #1 defense in the NFL

    link

    first in points scored.
    second in yards allowed.
    6th in net yards/passimg attempt
    8th in rushing yards allowed.

all this, despite only playing two back-up QB's!

also, they have held every opponent on their schedule to 24 points or less.

This'll make for a good SB story line. #1 offense, #1 defense and the coach facing his former team that fired him...

Honestly, New England had a lot of success against Carolina.
New England's drives were cut short two or three times by their own mistakes, and every single drive went into Carolina territory.
      Punt
      Fumble in the red zone
Field Goal(15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty)
      Touchdown
      Touchdown
      Field Goal
      and then the interception

I mean, for some reason on 3rd and 1 the Pats choose to go to a pass when they had huge success running all game.

And they don't face 3rd stringers every other week.

True but on one of their TD scoring drives the Panthers had stopped them on 3rd down twice only to have stupid penalties that had nothing to do with the play that allowed NE to continue on. Good game to watch though. I enjoyed it.

They've played a fairly easy schedule - which is not their fault - and for the most part have dominated teams they should.

The huge difference between the KC and Panther's D is the Panthers have the offense to take advantage of field position/turnovers and run up the score.

Unlike KC they don't consistently settle for FG's...

Would love a Carolina vs Denver superbowl. Either we win or Carolina gets their first title. Charlotte is a great city, they deserve it.

(Just not at the Broncos expense.)

Seattle is ranked first in some categories as well. And Seattle is on their bye so they'll look even better as the average of next week brings the other teams down.
