If you wanted a "cheaper" bridge QB, you go mcCown/Fitzpatrick or even stick with Keenum.

Flacco is a backup level QB.
He's cheaper because he can be cut without an cap ramifications. The only way Flacco sticks around past year 1 is if he brought Denver to the playoffs.

I'm not trying to compare Flacco to McCown and Fitzpatrick. Flacco is better than both and it's not even debatable.

Yeah, more of a placeholder for aspirations if you will.

Why would anyone want to pay money to another backup QB after we just did it with Keenum?

NONE of them had veteran, on low dollar, expiring contract, already on the roster to serve as mentor/bridge.
    Calm down, Jerry.
This is why Cindy is finding other avenue’s to sustain herself.
    Don’t shoot the messenger, Son.

2019 they are paying 28.5M for a back up QB. Because of last years mistake.
