Ok, he's not technically a rookie...but he basically is...and beat us. Another notch in VJ's belt.

An undrafted second year player beating us is worse than being beat by 1st round rookies in my book, but he's still not a rookie regardless.

The funny thing is that of the 3, Mullens did by far the most damage to us. Darnold completed 10 passes for 198. Mayfield 18 for 188. Mullens 20 for 332.

          • I don’t think we were beaten by either Darnold or Mayfield. Our Defense kept both of them in check. NYJ and Cleveland’s Defenses shut down our inept Offense in both games.

            • All 5 rookie 1st round QBs are starting .
How come Baltimore and select a qb at the end of the first round and he’s playing and win it games. Elway selects Lynch and barely see the field

Elway sucks when compared to the great GMs

Darnold had a couple of nice throws against inconsistent Roby, but it was some guy named Isaiah Crowell that burned the defense.

And after getting constantly blown by the media prior to and during the game, Mayfield was pretty ordinary after the opening drive. He took advantage of the fact that the Broncos had no CB’s left in the game, though, but otherwise the defense held him in check. But yeah, the Brown defense took it to the Broncos offense.

Because we selected a loof. The writing was on the wall and Elway ignored it.

We now know that Lynch didn’t deserve to see the field; that’s on him, not the coaches, imo. Apparently, he’s not valuable enough to a team that runs a lot of college concepts either, because no one wants him.

Jackson may be starting and winning, but it is because Flacco got hurt, and then they started to win, but not because of his passing. And Allen, in Buffalo, is breaking a bunch of QB records...for running! Tebow would be envious.

Every rookie QB, except Darnold, is starting either because of injury or desperation. At least Mayfield showed a spark when he got in that game against the Jets. He was the number 1 pick, so it was just a matter of time.

Darnold could’ve, but didn’t need to.

I would say that it was Kyle Shanahan that did the most damage to the Broncos defense, and all he needed was 1 half of a game to do it. A real QB guru like him, his dad, & McVay, makes good QB’s great, and backups play like starters. It’s all about play design fit for your QB, AND knowing when to call those plays.

Sounds like Baltimore is moving Flacco
You keep him even as a backup if you don’t believe in Jackson

Yeah, maybe. But he was only 10/22, which is pretty awful.
