If only he had been Jack's college roommate...

    • Minshew II making it look easy against AZ.

      • It's a shame that even in the best case scenario, only one or two of these guys will be worth drafting.

That's likely true, but some of that falls on the team player personnel, coaches, and scheme. I think a lot more of the high talent QB selections would have succeeded if they were put in better situations.

That said, those poor situations and rushed playing time are things that won't be going away any time soon. Our team may qualify as that type of situation even.

I do think this is one of the better SENIOR QB drafts that I can remember. There are some legitimate first round talents here that feel fairly safe to me that you'll get a decent NFL starter if nothing else (Lock, Grier, Thorson, Finley), and I feel there are some potential developmental diamonds in this group as well, specifically Ta'amu, Cornelius, and Dungey. Add in Shurmur and Minshew, both with NFL skillsets, who are better than they have gotten credit for, and may get drafted way higher than people think, and this is a strong senior QB group. Depending on what happens with the Juniors, say if we get 3-4 high end prospects, this could be an all-time QB draft in terms of productive NFL starters. I think if you're swinging for the fences and looking for an NFL superstar, you've even got a chance there with Lock, Grier, and Thorson, maybe even Finley. That's rare with a Senior QB, usually the top guys come out early, you don't usually get a handful of them. This could be very good for us (as a QB needy team) if some Juniors join them, assuming we pick in the Top 15, we should get a shot at a legit franchise guy. I'm kind of pulling for Thorson, I don't think we'll have a chance at Lock or Grier barring a trade up, but who knows how it shakes out. I just want us to take a shot on a franchise guy in the 1st Round. No more retreads. I would also like us to take a second QB in the mid rounds in this draft just because it's so deep at the position. You never know, much like Washington when they took Cousins in the 4th after taking RGIII in the 1st, the more bites at the apple, the better the chance for success.

          • Franchise guys can only be identified after they've already had obvious, measurable success in the NFL, sadly.

                • Mayfield is going to be special. It really sucks that we weren’t able to get him.

                  • Mayfield really starting to separate from the pack. I think part of it is situation. But he may just be the best of the bunch.

                    QB rating:
                    19 Mayfield
                    32 Rosen
                    33 Darnold
                    34 Allen

                    QBR:
                    21 Mayfield
                    29 Allen
                    30 Darnold
                    31 Rosen

And in the last few games he’s been playing as good as anyone in the league.

                      • It was fairly easy to predict immense success for Mayfield. Many of us were sure of it over a year ago, but he's having a better rookie year than reasonable expectations, especially since they let Hue go.

                        • 1. Josh Rosen and the Cardinals have the 6th worst Offensive DVOA in NFL history and the worst Offense that the NFL has seen in 5 years.
                          2. Josh Allen and the Bills have the 10th worst Offensive DVOA in NFL history.

                          b-b-but muh Rosen!!!

Wonder what Keenum's stats might have looked like had he not spent the first half of the season throwing drops to DT.
