Thanks for the reminder. Just tuned in with six seconds left in the first half.

Lol. They don't show him, but if you turn the volume up while Griese and company are talking you can hear Elway say something like "...kick ass in the second half". Haha.

He was always great, but the teams weren't so good. They went 20 - 23 while Elway was QB. They're probably going back now and retiring his number because of the pressure of his HOF NFL career, which is considerable.

His lone bowl game was to be his final year. Unfortunately, against CAL, The Game occurred which involved the marching band fiasco

He was the #1 pick. I just assumed he carried Stanford to greatness. Was the Stanford defense that bad?

The Stanford EVERYTHING was that bad. O line was bad. Receivers were bad. Defense and special teams were bad. There was enough bad to go around.

I was at the game last night and it was absolutely electric all night. Stanford manhandled the seemingly invincible Ducks, while John and his family watched from the sideline the entire game. There were tons and tons of Stanford Elway jerseys scattered throughout the crowd.

Here's a short video that has some footage of the halftime ceremony and John's speech. The crowd was already PUMPED UP due to the score, but John took it to a new level!

(Elway part starts around the 1:13 mark)

A Gaffney did the Ducks in...

Didn't make me feel any better, though.
