I’d compare Jay Cutler to Tony Romo.
Not just arm and personality but everything else. They were even born in the same state. lol They both were hyped due to arm strength even though neither one had any success at pro or college level. Both had bad personalities and disliked by teammates. Both didn't take to coaching. Losing records as starters in the NFL. Both from Indiana. Both compared to by former coaches and players such as Billick, Hebert, Gannon, Esiason, and even Tom Jackson. Both played on several teams with multiple coordinators that all said I'm getting along with this person so well only to get fired. Both were Turnover prone with similar TD/INT ratios.

I actually struggle to find ways they were different other than George would throw the aggressive deep ball when pressured where Jay would take sacks.

I know you didn’t find any Jeff George draft comparisons, because there wasn’t any. As I said, it was a lazy comparison

That is just a lazy comparison, honestly.

Cutler was spot on about McD, who clearly lacked management skills to run a club. Mike Nolan did a great job on D, and he got ran right out of town along with many other quality assistants.

Now MCD didn't have the best social skills but he did hold people accountable and when he told Jay what he needed to work on, Jay pouted and wanted out of town because he thought he didn't need to. Turns out MCD was spot on about Cutler from day 1.

Did we do that? No. We threw him into the fire during a playoff run. He wasn’t ready nor did he earn it. l also think canning Shanahan and bringing in McD set back his development quite a bit. While I think MCD is an excellent offensive mind, his leadership and social skills leave a lot to be desired. I think Cutler just did not care after the Denver fiasco, after that it was just about collecting paychecks.

Bob Ayers was signed by the Lions and cut the next day. I wonder what the hell he did and the GM refuses to talk about it. I'm guessing he showed up pushing 320 or had a run in with someone.
