  • First training camp depth chart of 2018

Going to try and not read into this much... but it pissed me off. More of the same crap. Players being handed spots on the depth chart they do not deserve. Why is McKenzie being given first crack at punt returns when he is buried on the WR chart?

You're reading into this way too much. What this says to me is that he and Cracraft are in competition for a spot.

So they're still doing that Heuerman thing? To celebrate still being No. 1 on the depth chart, he'll be missing practice, again. When was the last time he did practice? Last year?

Nothing like the first depth chart to get the OM hand wringing really going.

While this is just the first depth chart, and we shouldn't get carried away with it, some things are pretty telling.

There have been reports that Shane Ray has had a good camp, and he's been running with the first team all camp, while Chubb has been running more with the second team while getting some first team reps. First depth chart comes out and Chubb is ahead of Ray. That's interesting.

I like that O line lineup. It's what we expected. I also like that the first time I've seen or heard Max Garcia's name, he's not in the starting lineup.

the oline has some depth right now for the first time in 5 years.

Irman, and Cravens need to practice if they want to make the team.

                  Corner looks super thin.

Who else should start at this point in time?

A guy who has never played a real nfl snap and is still recovering from a severe injury?
                    A bunch of camp fodder?

He is the starter by default, and it was always going to be that way. Butt comes out and shows he knows the offense and can block effectively, then he should at some point take over. I wonder if we will see Butt split wide here and there while he is preparing for the full time job.

No i dont. We have too many receivers, i just wanted to type that sentence.

I think Cravens' spot is secure, and that if this was the regular season, he would be playing. For some reason, it seems that Heuerman's spot is also secure.

Heuerman was running routes right before the scrimmage.

Traylor is super slow. No closing speed at all.

They just want the young TE's to keep working hard. I still think Butt starts at some point this year.
