His cap hits the next 3 years: 650 K, 850K, a little over 1 mil, all with no dead money.

If he's anything close to what he was in college, and his rookie year, thats a fleecing. And if you follow him on instragram, he likes and posts tons of Broncos stuff all the time.

      • We have a playmaker to cover TEs
Big huge addition if he’s healthy
Will parks and Stewart gave up 7 TDs last year

Right. I really think that is why many teams are going the trade route instead of FA for some players. On a trade, you just assume the remaining salary amounts plus any FUTURE guarantees that may have been in a contract, but after the 1st couple of years of a contract, most bonuses/guarantees are already paid out by the prior team.

That is why I like the Veldheer trade also(6th rd). The Broncos are basically renting him for 1 yr for $6.5 mil. + $500k workout bonus for a total of $6.9 mil cap hit w/ no dead money. Not bad for a good experienced LT/RT. They can get together with him any time this season and talk about an extension, if they choose. It's a good deal for both parties.

Yep. On paper anyway, the Broncos finally have a player that fills a huge weakness that has been on this defense for several years now.

trade down 7 spots for a 2nd... hmm... yeah I would not do that. There are too many great picks available at #5 and the drop off to #12 is too great.

I agree with you but if they did trade with Buffalo, I’d demand their two first round picks at a minimum.

If we are trading down to Buffalo, I need Beane to be our Sonny Weaver Jr and give up those 3 #1's.
