They traded a 5th, it's well worth the risk.

If anyone still doesn't think this guy was well worth the relatively small risk that the Broncos took on him, then I really don't know what to tell you; and please tell me what 5th round player in this draft has that physicality and potential ability. If you can't do that, then don't complain about it.

            • There's plenty to criticize Elway and Company about. This definitely isn't one of them. Great risk/reward for a 5th.

Not just that. We're overloaded with pics atm. Way too many for available roster sports and practice squad lose us players to claims.

Not really sure your sample size settles the issue.

There will be solid players found in every round.

I would love if you could highlight even 2 plays Todd Davis did in pass protection that pop as much as Cravens.

I don't know if I could, but that isn't really the point. It's not a binary issue.

Isn't this the same place criticizing Lynch for supposedly not being motivated enough? This guy is a total wildcard. He might pan out great, he might quit in training camp.

Actually, there was a Davis clip that the same person had to compare a similar play that Davis got burned on for a TD. I just neglected to include it because I didn’t think it necessary for what I wanted to get across. Most people understand the risk/reward issue on this trade, and I think the Broncos take a small risk for a really big reward.

If Lynch was a 5th round pick, I would understand your comparison. But since he was not, then it’s an invalid comparison. The risk/reward between the two are not equal. The point of my vids was solely to show why the Broncos like him physically. It’s not necessary to bring up every play he has made in the NFL.

Cravens ability to play in this league really isn’t the issue. His issue is: is his head on straight? So even if Cravens is a flop this season, so what? It is a 5th round pick. What phantom 5th round player in this draft is a better value than Cravens? Truth is, you can’t name one, and neither can the front office, thus the trade.

                              That's your argument??

How many solid players do you think will be found in the 5th? Take that number, divide it by the number of picks in the round, and that is the percentage chance we have of finding one.

Im guessing its going to be around 10%. If this guy was available in the 3rd this year we would take him in a heartbeat.
