It's pretty much a 1 yr extension in reality, would guess the last year isnt guaranteed and has little dead money to it.

Beats overpaying Cousins and potentially losing key young players down the line.

Hell yes!! I’ll even take Will Hernandez is the second or trade up to the back end of the first. Soldier, Hernandez/Nelson, Paradis, Leary, and Bolles would be the best oline we had in years!!

There's the first cookie to crumble. Good for the Broncos.

Smart move, they don't have to go after Cousins, get Bortles locked up at an affordable rate and gives them to ability to focus on other areas of the team to improve.

            • Gives them cap space to add a couple value players in free agency, as well as tag Robinson.

Wouldnt be able to do that with Cousins on the books. Would also figure they cut Hurns if they keep Robinson and go with Robinson, Cole, Westbrook and maybe a draft pick at WR.

They'd have around 15 to 18 million with those moves.

              • Miami is going to makes some moves to get their cap in order and I wonder if we could see Ryan Tannehill released.

I saw he could restructure and there are the rumors Landry could be traded.

                  • The Dolphins could restructure quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s contract and save $11.123 million in cap space this year. The restructure involves turning base salary into signing bonus, which would then be prorated over the final two years (2019 and 2020) of Tannehill’s contract.

That Suh contract is a killer for them.

If they June-1'd Suh, they'd save 17 mil, but 9 mil in dead money.

For as much crap as Elway gets on these boards, he's been pretty good with the cap and not pushing the can down the road ie a bunch of restructures that alot of teams do.

Yes. That's why I don't see him going after Cousins if the contract goes over $20M

                            Year 1- 10 mil
                            Year 2- 16 mil
                            Year 3- 30 mil?

Yeah it's pretty much a 1-year extension in semantics.

I dont agree with that. I doubt Elway will have the highest offer out there, but Cousins would give him a young, healthy QB for the next 4-6 years.

None of the QB's in the draft are a lock to be great. And Denver has been linked to Cousins too much for them not to go after him.

                                $20M? Do you mean $30M?
