4 good teams await and this wasn't good enough.............
Good teams await?
So New England/San Diego are good teams yet what the Broncos did today wasn't good enough?
Have San Diego/New England scored 45 points in any game this year?
And my post was in response to the "blueprint" defensively against Manning which allowed this team to score 31 points in the 2nd half. I didn't say anything about consistency or whether it was good enough.
So yeah, you made up an imaginary argument in your post and starting debating it. Well done.
We scored 51 against a two deep zone team a few weeks ago. There is no magic coverage that is the answer to anything.
If you play that standard Cover 2 with the CBs up, you'll get killed by smash routes and three verticals and the go/flat combo, and the shallow/dig combo and the strong side flood and the weakside flood with a HB option. A steady diet of anything will get you killed in the NFL. You have to mix everything up, disguise your coverages and take away what the offense does best and pray they can't execute secondary stuff as well.
Well, you have to admit we need to start out better and not be so sloppy come playoff time. You can get away with it against the Redskins, but as we found out the hard way last week (and against Baltimore in the playoffs last year) you can't get away with it against quality opponents. This isn't a "complaint" or a "panic" in any way, shape, or form. Just an observation.

The defense played lights out and gave up only 14 points to a pretty good QB that lit up the Bears.
The offense was off in the first half yes but they recovered strong. So what do you mean by sloppy?
