I'm hoping Decker will realize the situation he's in and take a discounted deal, but if he wants too much, let him walk. Take that money and use it to help extend Demaryius.

You have to bring back Woodyard, Harris, Beadles, Holliday, and Ihenacho. Ayers and Carter should resign for cheap. Hopefully Phillips will stay on on a cheap one or two year deal because he can clearly still play, and we haven't even seen him with Von. DRC has had a pretty good one year audition so far, so I'd like to see him back.

The situation Decker is in is that he has a 37 year-old QB that could retire at any minute. Decker might not be thrilled by the thought of catching passes from Oz.

For me, DRC and Ayers are the most interesting. We have guys who are absolute no brainers. But DRC and Ayers could be key pieces that are somewhat wildcards.

Shaun Phillips is on pace for 17 sacks...I wouldn't mind him on a low 1-2 year contract...who knows he could use this season to leverage some other team for a huge contract.

Duke Ihenacho is a must resign at a low rate unless we plan on drafting another safety in his spot.

If I had to pick one player to resign, it'd definitely have to be Chris Harris.

I believe Eric Decker will resign but it's tough considering they have DT up next year with Wes Welker.

As much as I would love to continue gazing upon Eric Decker my priority outside of Woodyard would be Nacho and if he doesn't want a low rate, I'd give him higher and not even think about putting another safety in his position. I agree on Chris Harris too. Those are my top 3. Then Beadles and Decker. Love ya Decker but WR's are a dime a dozen.

Not worried, just kinda accepted that he probably won't be back. Agree that Champ is going to be gone next year, unless he takes a drastic cut in pay.

Not sure if I'd expect Peyton to take much of a pay cut. If anything, you could argue he's underpaid in comparison to what other QB's contracts are.

Manning didn't come back to football because he needed the money. I could easily see him taking a pay cut to win a (hopefully third) Superbowl championship, if we needed the money to make key signings, muck like Elway did in '97 and '98. Great players want other great players around them.

Moreno is looking like a real play maker in this offense thanks to his versatility, while both Hillman and Ball are more one dimensional backs. I'm not sure if I'd pick up his option (it's only $1.3M in base salary but requires a $5M option bonus), but I'd definitely look to retain him.

So much of this has to do with what give and take will happen between the team and the players. I believe it is very possible that Champ will restructure to stay part of a championship team. If so, then the equation changes a ton in evaluating his value to the team.

Same with Decker but for a different reason - he is positioning himself rather well for some big endorsement money. Is he better off playing in a big market or playing with Peyton? IDK. But he may well decide that his big money opp is not his salary.

I know I will take massive heat for this, but as much as I love Holiday, you just can't afford to pay someone that is on the field for 8 or 10 times a game at most the same way you pay someone on the field for 50 plays. I love him, he is exciting as heck, and unless he decides he wants to remain a Bronco we can't afford too much against the cap to keep him. Is he the best returner in the game? Yes. And how many TDs does he have compared to our big 4 rcvrs? How many times could we have scored anyways starting on the 20?

Why do you say Welker is a rental? I think he has a better chance to resign then Decker. He is only 32 he could play another 5 years as long as he keeps his quickness.

As long as Manning is here Welker is here ............ they will set records that will never be broken until we go to touch or flag football.

So far this season all three of those guys haven't been remotely close to Moreno in on-field production in the aspects of the game they're actually good at, and you'd have to combine all of them to have someone as versatile as him (though still deficient in route running, catching, and pass pro compared to Moreno).

Is $5M in bonus money more than you'd want to pay him? Sure. But Moreno at $6.3M on a one year option is a lot less than any tag options available, and the option would be a nice bit of leverage to open negotiations on a long term deal with.

Ultimately, I'd rather moderately over-pay Moreno in 2014 than not have a similarly talented back and weaken the offense in one of the few peak Manning/DT/Welker/OJ years we have left. This team's window is closing in the very near future, Welker's contract shows the FO being aware of this. Overpaying one or two key players for a single year is a lot better than not maximizing the SB chances in those years.

I say he is a rental because he is signed through next season. Look at everyone who can be let go after next season. Peyton, Champ, DT, Von and Welker. If Peyton decides he's done, Welker won't be re-signed. We could very well see a youth movement after 2014 season ends.
