  • Week 5 Power Rankings are up: Broncos #1

For the most part it seems to reflect my opinions but there are a few head scratchers on there. Like the Eagles for example. They got thrashed by the best team and are now near the bottom.

I just wanted to see them do some justice and switch the rankings with the Seahags after this past week.

If someone had told me back in the spring that Denver would be #1 in the power rankings a month into the season despite:

                  1. Losing Dumervil to the Ravens in a fax gaffe.
                  2. Von Miller suspended for the first six games.
                  3. Ryan Clady on season-ending injured reserve two weeks in.
                  4. Champ Baily injured and yet to play in 2013.
                  5. Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman averaging about 60 yards a game rushing - combined.
                  6. Being only +1 in the turnover department.

I think I would have been a little skeptical.

Someone must have been playing a OM Survivor trick.

And Peyton Manning would of laughed at your insolence

Who cares, last I checked they don't give out trophy's for being #1 in power rankings at the beginning of Oct.

It's still fun to be at the top.

Interestingly I was watching around the horn and PTI (just to see what was said) and most of the panel on ATR and Wilbon literally were all "what 'ev" about Denver. They all said they've seen this before and basically that Manning sucks in the playoffs. Jackie MacMullan actually said the Broncos weren't good and just looked good because the teams stink.

The medias opinion of my team doesn't really change my enjoyment of the games in anyway, but this is something of some historical significance and I thought their reactions were pretty disrespectful. I hope Manning and the Broncos get to hear what was said. Some people really are just haters.
