  • What the Koch Bros. Want by Bernie Sanders

Here is what every American should be deeply concerned about. The Koch brothers, through the expenditure of billions of dollars and the creation and support of dozens of extreme right organizations, have taken fringe extremist ideas and made them mainstream within the Republican Party. And now with Citizens United (which is allowing them to pour unlimited sums of money into the political process) their power is greater than ever.

And let’s be very clear. Their goal is not only to defund Obamacare, cut Social Security, oppose an increase in the minimum wage or cut federal funding for education. Their world view and eventual goal is much greater than all of that. They want to repeal every major piece of legislation that has been signed into law over the past 80 years that has protected the middle class, the elderly, the children, the sick and the most vulnerable in this country. Every piece of legislation!

The truth is that the agenda of the Koch brothers is to move this country from a democratic society with a strong middle class to an oligarchic form of society in which the economic and political life of the nation are controlled by a handful of billionaire families.

Amazing to watch this piece of history unfold right before our eyes.

Blithering idiot. The same exact thing can be said about what liberal democrats want and they donate a ton more money than these Kochs. Reality is the Kochs have to be labeled evil since they donate nothing to democrats. It's just that plain and simple. You really believe the rich democrats give a rat's behind about you? Wake up to reality some day and stop sounding so ignorant. Geez.

Guess what, that is the exact same goal of Obama's handlers, only they will break the back of America financially to get there. Different path same goal.

The fact is America is owned by big business now. Every politician whether Democrat or Republican is owned by someone because they know they need millions of dollars to win a stupid election.

It did not used to be this way. There used to be rules on how news reported and how Politian's raised their money. Hopefully Hillary can put in a couple of Supreme Court Justices to return this country back to sanity.

This country is literally run by 10-15 people. You can add Soros and Bloomberg and Buffett to the list of the Republican donors. It really needs to stop or we will be a country of super-elite and the working poor.

Yes folks, we have more unemployed than ever before. We have more people on food stamps than ever before. We have more people on disability than ever before. We have less women in the work force than ever before. We have fewer black people working than in recent memory. We have higher taxes on everybody as well. But I know, it's these Koch brothers who are at fault. The stretch some need to make so they don't have to blame their failed messiah in the WH. And the only time a guy like Soros, as well as the numerous wealthy democrat donors, get criticized for anything is when liberals bring up the Kochs so they can play that, "well republicans,(who are like around the 60th range in donations) do it too." Yet liberals don't think they sound or appear stupid. Yikes.

What we have is a failed Right Wing revolution that started under Reagan which crippled the effectiveness of government (leading to our present economic destruction and massive income inequality) and now seeks to shrink it down until, in their own words, it can be "...drowned in a bathtub), and a Left Wing that was split as an after-effect of that revolution. Half of the Left, the predominant establishment in the Democratic Party, is represented by the Clintons (and others) who sold out and are completely owned by Wall Street (and others) and who are perfectly content to let this corrupted remnant of government stumble along under corporate guidance. Obama is in this group.

On the other side are people like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown, Al Franken, and others, who wish to restore the greatness of our government and its progressive heritage which created the strongest middle class in history. They want to re-establish the control we once had over corporate greed and wealth mongering parasites and restore that government that once worked for the general welfare of its people, rather than simply as a tool, a funnel that sucks the resources and wealth from the country and feeds it into the offshore banks of a small, but massively greedy minority.

The Right used to be split like this, but the fringe on the Tea Party has pretty much driven out the old conservatives, or forced the ones who are left to toe the radical line. It is a fact that if Reagan were alive today, he couldn't win a primary in this Republican atmosphere. Nixon would not even be allowed in the party. And now there is a new wing emerging on the Right; The Anarchists. These are the ones, and there are some new electees in the House (like Grimm) who are part of this movement, who want the life's work of the Founders torn down and obliterated. And they call themselves our greatest patriots and wave the flag the hardest, which is a real mystery. Part of the old Humpty Dumpty, "My words mean whatever I want them to mean" clique, I suppose. I would put the Koch Brothers in this group, or at the least, sympathizers with this group. Why? Because they know that every time our government is made weaker, they are made stronger. And richer.

Good work. Deny your party is Socialistic and then post an article by a flaming Socialist that caucuses openly with the Democrats.

Then again, that naughty National Socialist named Glenn Miller did, too.

And if you don't want people thinking your party are closeted Socialists and Communists, don't use their talking points and catchwords.

Liberals are always good to deny the obvious. They aren't socialists, they are just fans of them. Sure. They think the same about Obama, who grows up surrounding by them, but he isn't one. He just acts like one.
