  • Ryan's new/old/repeat screw the poor budget

So Ryan says programs that help the poor keep them in povery except poverty has went down since the 70's ?

He also says food stamps need to be cut substancially even though millions have been lifted from poverty directly because of food stamps.

GOP will not raise the minimum wage so many of those minimum wage earners need food stamps to get by.

Didn't we soundly defeat Romney/Ryan based on this same policies ?

Oh, BTW Ryan also wants to give the rich a 15% tax cut cause you know trickle down works.............never has and never will.

    Damn Reaganomics, rinse and repeat.

Politics board looks like it has been taken over by you republics so please defend your former VP nominee ?

        Bingo.

If there was a mechanism by which we could channel the billions of tax dollars lost to Pentagon fraud and waste to the V.A., then that would go a long way toward shoring up veterans' care.

The inverse corollary is to tax the poor to get ride of poverty. That is your GOP logic in a nutshell.

would be interesting to see a current pie chart showing DoD breakout for: people; equipment and operations. Repubs love buying equipment. Dems a little less so.

Any budget that doesn't make significant changes to military outlays, Heathcare or SS is just politics and window dressing. It's not food stamps, it's trillions in the desert. It's not food stamps, it's an absurdly inefficient private health system. It's not food stamps, it's bars on Medicare negotiating on drug purchases or buying internationally.

Sometimes people don't need a grand plan to fix all their ills, they just need groceries to make it to next week.

Or we could do the GOP solution of doing nothing about the problem:

"People have access to health care in America, After all, you just go to an emergency room" -Bush

"Well, we do provide care for people who don't have insurance... We pick them up in an ambulance, and take them to the hospital, and give them care" -Romney

The biggest expenditure for DoD is personnel (both military and civilian) and their benefits.

Seems like it's just as much the left's logic now too.
