Population control unchecked gives us these results.... A rational population of humanoids would beging very early to see the affects of over-population and take self action. None of this has to happen there doesn’t have to be strife, chaos, and draconian policies to enact this.

I will say that given the population there it is impressive how calm people were and how courteous they acted. If NYC was like this grannies would be getting stepped on and people would be throwing haymakers.

The population numbers are daunting, but you also have to remember we’re talking about a 5K year-old continuous state.

I’m well aware of their history... I also understand that with that immense population the daily rationale choice of what people consume and hygiene standards would be completely different than what you and I would adhere to. We have to use science to define exactly what causes these conditions to arise such a terrible virus and influence the chinese government to adopt said standards to reduce future iterations. But it’s a fact that in India and China due to living standards & population density that there is a much higher chance at generation and transmission of these types of ailments.

Still in such conditions their behavior in the train station given the current circumstances is remarkable.

No argument with any of the above.

I travel pretty extensively throughout all of Asia (in fact, I’m there right now, having chosen to hunker down here rather than risk air travel) and I’m always amazed at the politeness and social grace exhibited by people in every country.

We were all misled by the Chinese government. That’s the biggest single factor contributing to the global pandemic. We should have cancelled Mardi Gras and probably even the Super Bowl. It just didn’t seem very contagious with only 80,000 cases in a country of 1.4 billion people. Now it’s obvious that it is more contagious than the Chinese led us to believe. Their real numbers today are probably more than 4 times more than what our final numbers will be.

                  Late January.

I've been doing the social distancing thing since mid-February.

Stay safe. You’re safer there than in L.A. in the coming weeks.

I have no doubt about that (sad to say.)

Spicoli would have you believe he's in possession of empirical data from China that Johns Hopkins U and others are missing.

In any case, what I actually said was that it's difficult to rely on ANY country's case counts given the variance in testing and general responses by governments.

But since when have anyone's actual posts stood in the way of the pot head's straw man fallacies?

Yeah China had a one-child policy for a very long time. They were the epicenter of population control, actually, the parts of the world with the most population growth are in climates that are not conducive to this type of pandemic.

Why does the anti-overpopulation crowd always bicker at everyone BUT the nations actually overpopulating?
