Drug problem solved. At least then you won’t have to see some worthless bum flipping out, then hear his buddy yell “Lenny, lay off the bath salts man!” when you’re downtown. And there’d be an argument made that at least the people there will die pain free and the way they want to. And it’ll kill business for the drug cartels. I’m offering solutions.
      Let's call that camp California.

        “Appalachia” would be more accurate.

They don’t call it “Hillbilly Heroin” for nothing.

Most opioids come from Mexico which underscores our need for better border control. If we had any brains we'd be executing those who manufacture, smuggle, and deal this stuff but thanks to liberals, we're too busy coddling them!

The only laws that matter are the ones we are willing to enforce.

Are you on the record as officially endorsing the next War on Drugs? Maybe you can sign up to be the Drug Czar!

Appears to want the role of executioner. Skip due process, right to death. Probably attends to a nice a Church, certainly a good Christian.

You can brand it all you want but people who poison others for a living should face the death penalty if convicted. The question is why that's a problem for you.

I said nothing about skipping due process. My comment was presumptive that such would be followed and the people manufacturing/smuggling/peddling this crap face the penalties they deserve for killing tens of thousands. But of course, as a lefty, all you care about is the criminal and taking swipes at the Christian faith.

Don't tell me - capitalism makes them do it?

Attorneys general in 21 states reject opioid companies settlement because $18 billion is not enough

States across the country have sued major opioid distributors and pharmaceutical companies for compensation due to the unscrupulous practices that have helped to facilitate the opioid crisis. The Wall Street Journal reports that a large $18 billion settlement that pharmaceutical companies were offering up to make these lawsuits end has “fallen apart” and that a letter, rejecting the terms of the settlement, signed off by 21 of the state attorneys general, as well as Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, was sent to the companies’ law firms.

The original settlement offer, as it stood, would include paying out the $18 billion over 18 years. The settlement talks have been going on since October, and proceeded the Sackler family’s attorney floating a $10-$12 billion settlement last summer. That offer was roundly criticized as even low estimates have put the financial costs of opioid crisis at around a quarter of a trillion dollars.

...History has shown us that the greediest amongst us have very little interest in anything but greed. A recent example would be the Sackler family, who created Purdue Pharma—a company best known for producing and profiting off of OxyContin—who have tried to plead bankruptcy while filtering billions of dollars into private accounts.

How many dead people as opposed to how much money before Walmart's profit is unsavory? Garcia is good at formulas. Maybe he can come up with an algorithm, or something? I wonder if it's the same numbers as how many dead grandmas per point on the Dow?

The Dennis Leary theory. More drugs and give them to the right people.

                                1) Legalize Marijuana
                                2) Decriminalize all drugs
                                3) Make Doctor’s accountable for the scripts they write
                                4) Change the compensation model for Drs around control scripts and pain medication doctors
