How long should California (for example) remain in a union of states where they, as the largest and richest state, have no representation, or at least, representation that in the real world of policy and governance, is utterly meaningless? And why should they continue to economically support states that continuously thwart their voice in national governance? Seems like a ****ty deal for a state that, on its own, would be the 8th largest economy in the world.
Yup - the U.S. needs California more than California needs the U.S. at this point. They’re literally subsidizing all the poorer red states while the Trump administration infringes on their state’s rights by trying to force California to have worse environmental standards, for example. I’m all for building a wall....around California.

Meanwhile Trump’s scandals, crimes, and other embarrassing moments and revelations will continue to pile up. It’s a certainty, especially if he wins a 2nd term. They could have gone with Pence and restored dignity and honor to the GOP. Instead, they’ve tethered themselves to Trump, and own whatever other crazy **** he does from this point forward. The ultimate damage to the party will be incalculable and could last for generations. Nancy threw them a lifeline, and yet they passed.

It is crazy. The only thing I can figure is that he has something over them. He's an ignorant, know nothing buffoon, but he isn't stupid. His mob boss skills have been honed over decades of practice. The only thing that's hard to figure is how he could have something over that many people. But, most of these politicians are scum so they're probably all involved in things that if they got out would harm their careers. Either that or they're getting something from him, or are promised to get something.

They've been trained by twenty years of Tea Party primary cannibalism to be afraid of their own shadows. Trump (and his rabid base) bark, and they pee down their legs. America must not only flush the Trump turd and all his despicable cohort (Pompeo, Barr, DeVos and the rest of those pukes), but they need to obliterate his ignorant base as well. Time for the right wing revolution of rednecks and bigots to die. Mitch is clever. He sees what is coming. That's why he's packing the courts as hard as he can. He knows the only future the Republicans have is in protecting the gerrymander and suppressing the vote.

The move, first reported by POLITICO's Kyle Cheney on Twitter, flies in the face of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, who previously blocked Paul's question.
