Default Von Miller = #56

Was watching our favorite analyst on our favorite sport's station, and he (Merril Hoge) said that when he watched Von Miller's preseason tape, he immediately thought of Lawrence Taylor.

I know we hate Hoge, and ESPN has its detractors and for good reason, but that was such high praise I thought it worth sharing...it's time to show it when it counts, but I'm getting pretty jacked about tonight!

This is a very common comparison. Miller will be in the race for DROY.

I had always heard the comparison to Derrick Thomas (particularly because Thomas was Miller's idol growing up and the reason he chose to wear #58), so a comparison with LT was new to me, at least.

Either way, if he lives into either comparison, we will look back on this past draft as one of the best in franchise history.

I don't see Von Miller as being quite as physical as LT, the comparsions to Derrick Thomas seem more fitting. Regardless, he has the makings of being a super star for many years to come!

Oops, you are right. I was thinking Thomas as I read that. I stand by the rest of my post though!

In the same way I don't listen to Hoge when he trashes someone I don't listen to him when he praises someone even if I like the player. Hoge has no value. I will continue to ignore the guy.

My problem with Hoge is not his opinions (Tebow bad, Von Miller good, etc.), it's that he intentionally adds an overly extreme element to all of his opinions in order to sound outrageous and get talked about. Many in the media do this, but he just lays it on too thick.

He was the #2 overall pick, I would hope he leads the race the whole year.

Hodge said that Pat White would be the NFL MVP and the dude didn't make it more than one season in the NFL.

Hodge doesn't know anything, I do not know how he remains employed.

Not physical? What made you think that? Was it the fact that he pushed a 300+ man into his Qb or maybe the play when he drove the seattle running back 5 yards into his own backfield?

He's an idiot. Washed up mediocre player who has a mic in front of him so everyone and their brother thinks he has an "expert" opinion.

At last .... my love has come along!

LOOK AT THAT GUY! A world class athlete, born to sack ... and yet he looks like half-an-Urkel!

My love for Von Miller make's Khan's love for Kuper seem like the white hot hatred of a thousand suns.

I love Von Miller so much, I would ... I would ... I dunno, do his laundry.

And if that's not love, I don't know what love is.

Did you know that the urkel look is in style now, and has been for awhile?
