Default Von Miller - NFL Network Roundtable

Listening to a roundtable discussion on NFL Network the other day and rushing the passer topic came up and Sapp throws out "Did you see Von Miller, Whoooooo, turns that edge, gave me visions of Derick Thomas"

I t think Von Miller is already making waves though the NFL and he hasn't even played his 1st regular season game yet. That's frickin awesome.

They'll leave a rookie tight end in to chip who isn't starting. He was good in college and also their backup offensive lineman didn't have a good game against him so Von Miller's done.

I still can't believe that Raider idiot made that post. He has to be 14 or has fallen off a ladder recently.

He is a Raiders fan, isn't that sufficient evidence that he does not have full control of his faculties?

I should hope everyone's IQ is "equal to or greater than a turnip"

Very bold statement.

Would be awesome, but INSANELY unlikely.

Von's raw rookie abilities are enough to get him in the backfield regularly.

I don't feel apprehensious at all saying that this time two seasons from now, that people could be talking about him as the best defensive player in the NFL.

You should have seen what they were saying on Inside the NFL this week. They discussed the hall of fame class for this year, and then had a discussion on which current players they think will be in the Hall some day. Chris Collinsworth stated that based on ability and potential, he think Von Miller gets in some day. That kind of buzz before he has even played a regular season game is quite rare. Its hard not to see how special he can be if everything works out

I think Miller is going to really struggle when the Raider line up 10 OT's to block for their RB.

That is just to fill TV time, let the kids play and talk about what they do during games, not what they could do in UnicornHappyLand.

I called my shot, I'll live with it.

He led the nation last year at A&M, that's one helluva lotta guys he beat out. Plus no matter what Warren What-a-Sapp says, teams won't be ready for him at first. He should start very quick, then slow up as teams adjust and as the season length takes its usual toll on rookies. To be honest, I'm not that confident he'll even be playing on first downs late in the season, he's not a big guy.

A lot depends on how Allen uses Von and Elvis, where they line up in what situations. Realistically, maybe 12 sacks.

The MNF thread created by some raider fans. Somehow a rookie TE, a rookie RT and McFadden are going to be enough to stop Miller and Dumervil (because our pass rushers are undersized...or something. I stopped paying attention when they said Jarvis Moss was a pass rush specialist...)

1. He's not even remotely small for his position

2. 12 sacks is your conservative "realistic" number?

If the Raiders have to have a TE help block Miller then Broncos are off to a good start. That mean Doom coming 1 on 1 because you can't use 4 blockers on 2 defenders. Also only the best TE can chip a great pass rusher and still get out for a good route. That is why edge pass rushers so big, they change the whole offensive approach.

Last yr Broncos had nothing to make any team change anything. With Doom and Miller I think we have what it takes to make teams worry about the edges.

12 sacks would be rookie of the year for sure. If both Doom and Miller can get into double digits I will be very very pleased.

Wait, you said Von will lead the league in sacks and now you're saying he'll have 12? No way 12 leads the league.

He would probably need 14-18 this season to lead the league.

this is the best part of the OM cycle for draft picks/free agents. lets review:

-guy sucks. why did we draft/sign guy instead of other guy. fire the front office/bowlen is poor

-you know I'm going to go out on a limb here I think guy is going to turn some heads and be better than we ever expected and also we are going to win double digit games and guy will be a big part of why

-guy is a hall of famer. we've never had a player like guy.

-[after season, in which guy has not yet proven to be a hall of famer] guy is a bust. cut guy. I was right about guy all along. picks like guy show just how little this front office/coach knows about football. I'm done with this team.

Double digit sacks...whaaaat? But you can't make plays from the strong side ( spoken from a devout DJ apologist )
