The NFL's Most and Least Economically Savvy Franchises

Quote:
Oakland, Denver, and Miami were the other NFL franchises to see their managerial efficiency ratings fall by at least 20 index points.

BOWLEN!

instead of BASHING the team like seems to be envogue on the mane, I will go the other direction:

1) Which NFL franchises have been the most economically savvy over the last 10 years?

2001-2010
Rank Team Average
1 New England 163
2 Indianapolis 142
3 Pittsburgh 136
4 Philadelphia 129
5 Tennessee 126
6 Green Bay 122
7 Baltimore 122
8 NY Giants 115
9 Tampa Bay 113
10 Seattle 106
11 San Diego 103
12 Denver 102

It is too easy to pick on Mike Shannahan's last year and the past 2 season of McDaniels. Ofcourse our rating would suck balls with the 2 of them.

I laughed at it too. That is why I linked to it. Inevitably, we will have someone go nuts about Pat.

Stupid article is stupid. There really isn't that much difference between the "Management Efficiency" rankings, and win-loss records. Normalizing by payroll doesn't have all that much effect I'm guessing since payrolls are capped on the low and high sides. This kind of ranking system is probably much more interesting in baseball.

It is what it is, man. I'm just glad people around the league are starting to see this. Hopefully we can get a trustee or something in here to take over team administration like the Dodgers.

Well, that would definitely support the theory that it's almost as profitable to lose cheaply in the NFL as it is to win.
