Just looking at the team defense stats on NFL.com, and it just made me crack a smile. I know, I know its just the preseason. But, it's pretty funny that we are a top 10 defense, and the Packers, Chargers, Steelers, Giants, and Raiders are bottom ten.

Anyway, we look much improved, hopefully we can keep improving.

we only played really one DECENT offense. Bills and Seahawks are awful.

Bills and Seahawks last year were the 25th and 28th worst offense's respectively. Yes, it would be nice to play them all year. Then we would have a "top ten" defense.

Worst to First in sacks, could be a possibility.

Good defenses dominate bad offenses and play well against good offenses. Historic defenses dominate any offense, good or bad.

So far we have absolutely dominated both those bad offenses. We aren't saying they will be historic, are we?

Statistically, our 2010 preseason starting defense was just as good as this year's preseason starting defense. And they faced MUCH tougher offenses.

We're currently tied for 6th in sacks with Baltimore, Indy, and New England. I'd be ok if the defense stayed near their rankings.

on top of those stats, 90% of offensive yards against us were against our still terrible 2nd team defense. 1st team offense has looked amazing.

75% of those stats are probably just on Nate Jones...

The high sack teams typically are ahead (which means the other team HAS to pass)

I think this defense will be improved, but I don't think the team will be ahead enough to be a top 5 sack team.

That's still a bit of a concern. Our lack of depth is probably going to put us in the same boat as the 2009 Broncos defense. The only encouraging thing is most of our depth issues seem to be in the secondary.
