The defense has a lot of speed... consistently beating them on the screen isn't going to happen.

Also important to note: There was a lot of pressure coming from other players too. Ayers had a couple of visits to the backfield. Mays got pressure. Vickerson found his way as well. When you have TWO end rushers like we have, all of a sudden the whole defense suddenly gets much better.

I'm more concerned about the soft center. Screens can be dealt with if our pass rush is really this good - our safeties and LB's won't have to worry too much about the deep pass or pass rushing if that's the case and if they keep their heads about them should minimize screen losses.

I am still skeptical about the men in the middle - hopefully the can keep it up and prevent us from just getting gashed by the run.

=/ yeah

Still good to see this stuff. Should note though that Seattle's O-Line is **** so it won't be the same vs a team like San Diego. That said, the majority of Seattle's big stack/pressure stats came against our wretched second/third team O-Line in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Our first team D vs theirs was pretty obvious.

FWIW, Seattle press compared Doom & Miller favorably to Feeney & Mathis. Not exactly the same positions, but the principle is the same and having two guys who can do that makes them each more dangerous.

If only dealing with two dominate edge rushers was that easy.

Assuming Bunkley doesn't miss much time I'm not as worried about the middle as I was. The dude is stout against the run. I think the Eagles only dumped him because they didn't draft him so high to only stop the run. But a run stopper is all we really needed.

I think Bunkley + Mays + (healthy)Dawkin = much better against the run this year.

On obvious rushing situations, of course.

Man I can't reminder the last time we had a pass rush like that!?!? This is pretty AWESOME! Once we get HAM and Warren back to team up with Big Vick and Bunk, we can get some pass rush from the DT's too!

It sounds like you better tell him to stay out of there if you want Doom and Miller to stay healthy this year.
