Default Obie cancels deportation of illegals

(helping illegals so legals will vote for him)

Quote:
Obama to deport illegals by ‘priority’

Bowing to pressure from immigrant rights activists, the Obama administration said Thursday that it will halt deportation proceedings on a case-by-case basis against illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria, such as attending school, having family in the military or having primary responsible for other family members’ care.

more here.
Let's take a look at the definition of "illegal."

Quote:
il·le·gal   [ih-lee-guhl]
adjective
1. forbidden by law or statute.
2. contrary to or forbidden by official rules, regulations, etc.: The referee ruled that it was an illegal forward pass.
Thoughts?

No surprise he waited until he needs the votes. Obama will be pulling out all the stops because he needs heavy support from minorities to win. I smell a Jay z Kanye West fundraiser coming up!

Default Obama's support among Hispanics slipping

http://content.usatoday.com/communit...ics-slipping/1

President Obama's popularity among Hispanic voters appears to be slipping.

A poll conducted in late July and early August in 21 states with the largest Hispanic populations by impreMedia/Latino Decisions showed Obama with a 63% approval rate. That's down from 68% in June and 73% in April.

Only 38% of the 500 registered voters polled said they were certain to vote for Obama next year, down from 49% in June.

However, the poll was conducted from July 30 to Aug. 9, before the Department of Homeland Security announced a policy on deportation of illegal immigrants. The policy, largely favored by Hispanic advocacy groups, will focus more on people with criminal records.

Obama received 68% of the Latino vote in his 2008 race against Republican John McCain, helping him win key swing states such as Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico in McCain's backyard. He will need to keep most if not all of those states in his column in order to win re-election in 2012.

The poll showed that the economy has replaced immigration as the key issue for Hispanics. They, like many Americans, were put off by the battle over the nation's debt ceiling and deficit reduction that concluded in early August.

Default Word “Illegal” Near Extinction in Obama Administration

http://www.aurorasentinel.com/hp_col...cc4c002e0.html

BROWN: Word “Illegal” Near Extinction in Obama Administration SUSAN STAMPER BROWN Syndicated columnist Aurora Sentinel | 0 comments

This morning, I double-checked to be sure the word “illegal” was still a word in the dictionary. As of this morning, it still means “criminal, felonious, illegitimate, illicit, lawless, unlawful, and wrongful.” However, it is quite obvious, that the longer Progressive Democrats have carte’ blanche to do what they want, the closer the word “illegal” gets to becoming extinct.

It is difficult to determine who it is this administration is particularly interested in protecting. Law-abiding, hardworking folks who mind their business and turn their attention to providing for their families, seem to fall by the wayside, while the administration focuses on fulfilling President Obama’s commitment to “fundamentally transform” America.

As our president jets off to Martha’s Vineyard on yet another posh family get-away, it’s reassuring to know that in his absence, someone in Washington is watching out for us, or at least they say they are. God bless them, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is working their fingers to the bone to keep us safe - and at the same time, they find a way to justify that ignoring the rule of law regarding the deportation of illegal aliens is for our good, rather than an opportunity to shore up the Latino vote.

To give them credit, the Obama administration was on quite an impressive roll, having deported some 800,000 illegals from 2009 to 2010. Skeptics such as I believed the only reason the administration was following the rule of law regarding illegal immigration was to secure bi-partisan support for the DREAM (Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors) Act. The act failed in the Democratic-controlled Senate in December 2010, in good part, because the bill was perceived nationwide as amnesty for lawbreakers.

Afterwards, it seemed the Administration appeared to continue down the straight and narrow, until, like children who play one parent against another when they don’t get their way, leading Senate Democrats begged Obama to adopt the Dream Act as national policy, despite the bill’s failure in Congress. Speaking to a think tank event as late as April 2011, DHS Secretary Napolitano reinforced the administration’s stance when she said, “I am not going to stand here and say that there are whole categories that we will, by executive fiat, exempt from the current immigration system — as sympathetic as we feel towards them.”

Either the administration was lying, or as I have mentioned in previous columns, they are living in “Bizarro World,” where everything is the opposite of normal. Whatever the case, the deportation bus came to a screeching halt August 18, 2011, when the administration announced that the DHS will now re-consider the fate of approximately 300,000 illegals currently facing pending deportation — just as long as they do not have a “criminal record.”

Let me get this straight. Those who crossed our borders in a criminal, felonious, illegitimate, illicit, lawless, unlawful, and wrongful way - can stay in our country because they do not have a criminal record? Bizarro.

Dry wells can teach us the worth of water, and in an election cycle when the Obama administration is scraping the bottom of the well for votes, exploiting the Latino electorate makes as much sense in the world of Chicago politics as it does in Bizarro World. Suddenly, and quite conveniently, lawbreakers were morphed into impoverished victims in need of a Democrat Party savior.
America will continue to be the “melting pot of the world,” as we welcome with open arms those who cross our borders — legally. Rather than doing the right thing by considering the moral aspects of illegal immigration and its effect on American citizens, it seems Democrats are only concerned with enlarging their voting base. Applauding the administration’s immigration flip-flop, Representative Luis Gutierrez, D-ILL recently said, “This is the Barack Obama I have been waiting for and that Latino and immigrant voters helped put in office.”

Once again, the administration is doing what it does best by burying its true intentions under mountains of words, and burying words like “illegal” under mountains of loopholes found in the Democratic process.

Yep, it is, but where were you when your boy Bush was seeking amnesty and work visas for illegals?

A little consistency would serve you and your rightie pals well.

Yep, Obama is a joke, there's no denying.

Good thing your party is replete with candidates who are all poised to take our country back from the private interests at whose pleasure Bush, and now Obama, have served.

Illegal immigration isn't something that's subject to interpretation. It's illegal and those people need to be deported for being criminals.

The GOP and protestors did shut it down in opposition to Bush proposed policy.

He was seeking amnesty not bypassing the Constitution.

I recall that many on the right were upset about this.

I personally was warm to some sort of amnesty or work program until the economy **** the bed and unemployment rose. After that I felt we needed all the jobs we could get for Americans, not that many would want to do some of those jobs.

More American young people are unemployed right now than any time in recent memory. Young people (high school, college) are usually the types who do those jobs. Bus boys, servers, construction laborers, farm hands, etc. When I was young, my peers all did those jobs.

By your definition -- Bush's and Obama's wars are illegal.

When are you going to "get religion" on the most important issue of all?
