Default Tatum Bell wants to come home

There is a 30-year old unemployed former Broncos running back out there who is hoping for another shot in Denver, and it's not Clinton Portis.

link.

and go

I was really pissed off he didn't get a shot after his last game here. He was the only one trying in the SD game.

This was written in March. . . Not sure if it has much relevance now-- not that he couldn't potentially still get a look at some point if someone gets hurt, but we obviously weren't interested at the time. Couldn't have hurt, honestly-- I do think our backfield is better than it was, but it's not like we have an embarrasment of riches or anything. I am a little surprised that Bell couldn't stick in the NFL given his ability to be productive as an explosive change-of-pace. I have to wonder if stealing Rudi Johnson's luggage didn't effectively get Bell blackballed.

He had 365 yards in a UFL game? Holy jeebus. I mean, it's Tatum Bell, but still.

I got respect for Tatum. When we called him back in '08 he played his ass off at the drop of a dime.

Tatum always had health issues for the most part..... however when healthy he was pretty productive for us...
I just don't see how he would make the team now

Im with others. I thought the way he played for us in 08, especially the SD game, deserved at least an invite back to camp the next year.

Can the Broncos really afford to say that about anyone right now?

Not suggesting we do it now, but did we ever use him as a kick returner? A one cut guy with straight line speed, seems like he could have been good at it.

If McD can avoid a Shanny player, he did so!

All I know is he carried Ray Lewis on his back and was able to leave the game without a knife in the back. Thats pretty damn skilled.

Bell provided some very exciting times for Broncos fans. He had flaws, but I never quite understood the bashing. Not every player to put on the uniform is going to be ring of fame caliber.

I think it had a lot to do with his comments about not being able to wear his college number 7.
