Default Knoshow Marino under 200lbs?

Posted July 21, 2011, 12:44 pm MT Lighter Knowshon attends Camp LandowBy Mike Klis Comments (1)

Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno almost looked downright skinny.

Moreno has spent most of his offseason working out with a downtown Denver trainer but he joined “the guys” Thursday at Valor Christian High School.

Moreno, who played at between 208 to 212 pounds his first two seasons with the Broncos, says he weighs 200 now. He looks less than that.

“I’ve just been working out hard,” Moreno said. “Real hard. I haven’t tried to lose weight or anything.”

Moreno is expected to be the Broncos’ starting tailback for a third consecutive season, although the team will add a 1B-type runner through free agency.

There were 19 Broncos among the 45 local professional players who attended the conditioning session Thursday led by performance trainer Loren Landow in Highlands Ranch.

If it improves his quickness and speed, I guess that's good. He's never going to be a power runner.

Maybe he'll stop asking to come out after every freaking play now.

Slimmed down for his cheerleading on sideline after multiple fumbles smart move . Good fall back plan.

I get the hate, McD pick at no 12...

Averaged overall 1200 ish yards and 8.5 tds a year is not a bust in your first 2 years. Certainly not a "noshow".

Wouldn't it be interesting to see if the players come to camp in better shape than when Tuten trained them?

It would certainly answer some questions in my mind...

In fairness to Knowshon, Terrell the Great had a hard time keeping his weight up. His listed playing weight was always 210, but I was told on the side that he was probably 10 pounds less than that, and that by the end of the season, it was probably more than 10 lbs. less than that. Take it for what it's worth. It's just something that I had been told years ago.

I believe Portis had the same issue.

Yes but TD actually packed a lot of power in his small frame. Honestly it's hard for me to believe Moreno is TD's size.

(I'm not a Moreno hater mind you, it's just that TD was the greatest back I ever saw play.)

Maybe, but I have a feeling he's going to splitting duty with someone else quite a bit more this year, and if he's used primarily as our 3rd down back and in space his size won't make much difference.

If he's used primarily as our 3rd down back, his entire existence won't make much difference.

What good is a scat back who can't scat?

Maybe that difference of 10 pounds will take the pressure off his tender hammies and lungs.

Not sure if this is good news or not
200 seems a bit light for someone without top end speed

oh well at least hes been working out it seems
much better than if he was 240 or something like that

if he can gain quickness and elusiveness from this then it would be very good for us.
but he's got to stay healthy and get it going on a consistent basis.

Hmmm...Portis had 4.3 speed and Davis had superior vision.

What does "Tiny Dancer" have?
