Default American taxpayers are a limitless ATM machine

Thousands of tax dollars funded a study on penis size in the gay community

American taxpayers are a limitless ATM machine. The National Institutes of Health granted almost $900,000 in one year on this and other studies.
The institute has come under scrutiny from a group claiming the agency is wasting valuable tax dollars at a time when the country is trying to control its debt. The grant was administered by NIH's National Institute on Drug Abuse, and went first to a group called Public Health Solutions and a researcher with the National Development and Research Institutes before going to individual researchers.

It compiled data from a survey of more than one thousand gay and bisexual men at events in New York city held for the gay community.

And guess what they found out?

Among its findings, the 2009 report found that gay men with a below average penis size were more likely to be the 'receiving partner' while those with above average penis sizes were said to be the 'giving partner'. Those who participated were given a free movie voucher.

Kind of makes you proud to be a taxpaying citizen...... is this a great country or what?

I liked the Notebook. I hear it's a slippery slope to buttsecks. But poop comes from there. I'm so confused.

Ironically, that's also where the Notebook came from... full circle.

They needed a study to find out about gay men's penis sizes and sexual proclivities?

I guess I just assumed they take turns.

Never gave gay relationships a lot of thought though.

[...] NDRI has received taxpayer money since 1985 for “behavioral science research on drug abuse, AIDS and crime.” NIH records show that NDRI has received more than $15 million since 2000.

[...] An NIH spokesperson told TheDC the government didn’t approve the study and taxpayer funding didn’t directly cover costs for the actual research. NIH funding could only be used, the spokesperson said, for the chief researcher Dr. Christian Grov’s “expenses” like his “stipends, tuition and fees.”*

The National Institutes of Health did not fund or approve the research described in the paper,” a spokesperson for NIH said. “This study was funded by the Hunter College Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training. Dr. Christian Grov was supported as a postdoctoral research fellow at the time the research was conducted by a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)-funded training grant, which focuses on preparing behavioral scientists, especially racial/ethnic minorities, to conduct research in the areas of drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, and crime.”

If this was the type of study where they just asked a bunch of queens about sex, they are gonna lie. That's what queens do. And who is going to care enough to study the sex roles of a gay couple? I dont understand the rationale behind the study. Why?

Identity politics. Gay people must be incapable of functioning in society and must need the help of big brother to make a way for them. Gay people must be hindered by their gayness to the point that they cannot make a regular living on their own, and need the help of such benevolent politicians to make it happen.

This is one way that the NIH can claim "diversity". And they waste money to do it. This happens all over the country in all sorts of industries.
