Default My new toy ! WOOWHOO!

So I just picked this up. It's a 1994 with only 187 hours on the motor. The 4.3 in this year pushes 220 hp and the boat has a top speed of 63 mph and cruises at 3200 rpm's at 42 mph. Love it, a little old lady lost her husband and this was his boat. She let it go because she new how much I wanted it. Only charges me 4 K for it so pretty fricken sweet deal.

Now it just needs a few broncos decals on it and it'll be set.

Set aside a lot of money for upkeep. In other words Break Out Another Thousand! The two happiest days of a mans life are the day he gets his boat, and the day he sells it.

Why do you have to live in Portland? That's far too far away for me to buddy up to you in order to take advantage of the fact you have a cool boat.

Whatever, Wet Blanket.
Nice boat Quoy, similar to one my Dad had when they lived over in Hazeldell, Wa. Little Bro' Graduated from Columbia River HS and used to work at The Red Lion on the Wa. side. Great fun on the Columbia River in the summers.

I agree. He should pick you up. While you're at it, swing down through the Panama and up to NYC. I hear the canal is lovely this time of year.

I had a '92 Bluewater Eagle I picked up in Eastern Oregon back in '05. It was a great boat.

Except for that randomly sinking factor a month after I bought it. That was the only major flaw with the boat.

Yeah! One guy called me a wet blanket but I never said you would not have a blast. Only that for some strange reason boats break more then cars. I guess its just they mostly are ran balls out to make speed as water such a drag on inertia. I grew up waters skiing with my family. We went about 5-6 times a yr. My dad had a little Tahiti hull with a 6 cyl volvo penta motor in it. Inboard/outboard, little 16 foot missile we ran the hell out of.

One time we blew a A piston at the river and some other boat lovers who were also there playing came over, told my dad they could fix it, then proceeded to rip whole engine apart while drinking beer and replace the piston. We were back on the water in 2 days. I will never forget that. I mean how many other people would spend 2 days of vacation working on some strangers boat. But that is the type you meet out on the water. IMO good people who like to party, go fast, but also help people out when broken down.

Looks like that will be a great ski boat and I'm sure you guys will have a blast.

Huh... I thought the adage was "The two happiest days of a man's life are the day he gets his boat, and the day he runs over his wife with it".

Heh heh heh. Just giving you some good natured ribbing there, Cut. Doesn't suprise me with the helpful boating crowd, though. I've always found them to be like the Jeep offroading community, or the Motorcycling culture as well. Always willing to go above and beyond to help out. One of the cool things about being a part of these activities is always the interraction with other like minded folks. Met some real nice people up in the Pacific Northwest that we would have never know had it not been for that boat. Good times and great memories. I'm a little jealous of you right now, Quoy. Should be a fun day tomorrow. Bet somewhere the Old Guy will be looking down smiling at you seeing the boat do what she should be doing. Have fun, be safe, and take and post a few pics.

Nice boat - congrats on the purchase.

We're getting out of the drag racing/car hobby - just not enough people interested in it anymore. And having 20k+ wrapped up in a car built to go fast doesn't sit well at a car show for us. Waste of time and money IMO so we're looking at picking up a deck boat to go with our seadoo's.

Congrats on the new boat, boating is great family fun. I live on a great ski lake but no one skis any more, it's all wakeboards and the new cool thing now is surfing behind the boat, Doc B. is an excellent wake surfer if anyone needs advice....

I have a 28 foot Cobalt open bow with twin 350 mags with the corsica through the hull exhaust, it's as smooth as silk on the lake and sounds bad ass.
